  6.            TinyHost is a small, personal-sized host program for IBM PC's 
  7.        or compatibles. It is designed to permit logging onto one's 
  8.        computer from a remote site, without having to install a full-
  9.        fledged Bulletin Board program. To this end, many BBS features 
  10.        are not implemented - TinyHost is not intended to compete with 
  11.        such programs.

  13.            Some of the features of TinyHost V1.25 are:
  14.  
  15.            1) Supports 300 to 9600 baud operation with Hayes(tm) 
  16.        compatible modems, COM1 - COM4.
  17.  
  18.            2) Supports XModem, XModem/CRC, and 1K-XModem (sometimes 
  19.        called YModem) file transfer protocols for uploads and downloads. 
  20.  
  21.            3) On-line viewing of a text file on the host system.
  22.  
  23.            4) Supports a ringback mode so that a phone line that is 
  24.        normally dedicated to voice communcations can also be used for 
  25.        data transfers.

  27.            5) Supports user passwords to prevent unauthorized people 
  28.        from logging onto the system.

  30.            6) TinyHost's executable file is less than 70K, and the 
  31.        program requires less than 120K of memory to run in. 
  32.        Consequently, TinyHost can even be run from the smallest of PC's!

  36.            TinyHost has been released in ZIP form, utilizing the 
  37.        Authenticity Verification option. When un-Zipping the file 
  38.        THOST125.ZIP, the following line should appear after the un-
  39.        Zipping process is complete:

  43.        This ensures that none of the TinyHost files have been tampered 
  44.        with.

  48.            As released, TinyHost consists of the following files:

  50.            THOST125.EXE - The executable file. The 125 refers to the 
  51.        version number of the program (V1.25).
  52.  
  53.            TINYHOST.DOC - A printer-ready manual for TinyHost. Just use 
  54.        the DOS PRINT command.
  55.  
  56.            TINYHOST.WEL - A sample welcome file for use with TinyHost.
  57.  
  58.            HISTORY.TXT - The release history of TinyHost.

  60.            READ.ME - The file you're reading now.
