■■■ Information ■■■
Program ≈ SLTC (SearchLight TodaysCalls)
Purpose ≈ To display to the user or sysop those callers who have called
since midnight. If the sysop runs it from dos and there is noone
online then the phone numbers of the users will be displayed for
the sysop. (Read further for forced phone numbers)
Parameters ≈ Only one parameter is used. If a user is online and you want
the listing with phone numbers, use the 'L' parameter. This
is handy for those using Desqview or other multitasking
software. I don't really like parameters, as a good program
will be able to pick up all the information it needs from
the data files.
Environment ≈ You need to setup an environment variable called SLBBS. Set
this variable to the directory where your CONFIG.SL2 file
is located.
i.e. SET SLBBS=C:\BBS
If you don't set this variable, the program will terminate
with a message. This allows you to put sltc into a seperate
directory, and then run the program. Helps to keep your BBS
directory from getting too cluttered.
Key File ≈ This file is used to help me find out who uses the program.
A default key file is provided and if you would like a custom
key file, contact me and I will make one for you. You MUST
have this key file in the same directory when you run the
program.
Header File ≈ You can however create one file. The default greeting will
show if the file does not exist. You may create a file called
SLTC.HDR with text and SL color codes. All colors are support
but inverse and blink are not at this time. These additional
codes are supported:
Tm = Time Dt = Date Td = Time of day
Nm = UserName Ul = KB Uploads Dl = KB Downloads
Tl = Time Left Lt = LastLogon Time Ld = LastLogon Date
Tc = Total Calls Fl = First Logon Lo = Location
Don't use an ANSI file for a header. I have not yet written
the routines I need to support ANSI sequences.
Bug Reports ≈ If you think you have found a bug in the program, you can
leave mail to Charles Edstrom on one of these Searchlight
systems, that I frequent almost daily:
SourceCode BBS (my own system)
Harbor Master BBS (Home of: underWEAR SOFTware)
Kev's Korner BBS (Home of: BiBass Software)
Or I can be reached through FidoNet @1:154/777 and the
Searchlight Conference. I am also available through SL_NET
@250:200/124. Leave a message in the DoorWare conference.
Comments ≈ If you have a suggestion, see above. I will take all suggestions
under consideration. There is no registration needed, but if you
like you may send me mail stateing you enjoy and use the program.
Guarantee ≈ I guarantee that this program does NOTHING. If something goes
wrong, it is not my fault. And if all else fails, RTFM!
■■■ History ■■■
v1.0
Initial product. For personal use.
v1.1
Released to a fellow sysop by popular demand. He liked it so I gave it
to him.
v1.2
Fixed a bug with deleted users. Began to use more error traping. Also
changed time display format from military style to more common style.
This is the first copy to be release quietly.
v1.22
Fixed mispelling of CopyRight(c) message.
Changed file shareing for better Multi-user setup.
Added other minor changes (extra carriage return at end)
v1.23
Changed the header greetting for change of scenery.
v2.0ß
Added header file for top greeting for sysop to change to his flavor.
Also added SL color codes to the header file for sysops.
v2.0
Corrected a problem with reading the header file.
Corrected a problem with screen length for SYSOP (I think)
v2.01
Recompiled with new file definitions and the TP Unit release by Frank.
v2.1
Corrected a stupid problem for Singlenode versions of SLBBS. If you
run a singlenode version, thank Robert Cole of Straightlands BBS for
pushing me to correct it. (Got the little sucker)
v2.2
Changed the internal structuring for handling the header file. With
that I also added several new meta characters to the program. See above.
v3.0
Upgraded the data files for SLBBS 2.xx. All versions after this will
only work with SLBBS 2.x. Also added a key file for registration. No
fee was involved, I just like to know how many people are running this
program. I am also using it against those who like to hack programs
even when they are free. Sysop can obtain a key file by contacting me.
v3.01
Added additional error traps to ensure files are found and opened.
Corrected minor bug, where Error 100 appeared when running SLTC while
no user was online from a seperate window.
■■■ Future ■■■
Nothing at the moment, unless someone comes up with a good idea.
