  4. Introduction:
  5.     Nodeview facilitates the search of the Fidonet-standard nodelist for a
  6.     variety of criteria, enabling you to quickly and easily find other BBS
  7.     systems in the Fidonet network or any other compatibile Nodelist.

  9. General Operation:
  10.     Select an option from the main menu (the options are described in more
  11.     detail below). Enter the parameter that you want to search for; in the case
  12.     of text searches, it is not necessary to enter the entire text. A fragment
  13.     of a name or phrase is all that is required.

  15.     At any time during the search routine, you can stop the scanning by
  16.     pressing any key or Q.

  18. Options:
  19.  
  20.     Search nodelist by BBS name
  21.         This function will scan the entire Fidonet nodelist, attempting to
  22.         match the BBS name in the nodelist to the BBS name (or fragment) you
  23.         request.
  24.     Search nodelist by sysop name
  25.         This function will scan the entire Fidonet nodelist, attempting to
  26.         match the sysop's name in the nodelist to the sysop name (or fragment)
  27.         you request.
  28.     Search nodelist for Hardware/Software Support BBS's
  29.         This function will scan the entire nodelist, attempting to find any
  30.         BBS's that have "Support" listed in their entry.
  31.     Search nodelist by city
  32.         This function will scan the entire Fidonet nodelist, attempting to
  33.         match the city in the nodelist to the city name (or fragment) you
  34.         request.
  35.     Search nodelist entries for text
  36.         This function will scan the entire Fidonet nodelist, attempting to
  37.         match any field in the nodelist entry to the text fragment you request.
  38.     Toggle to long/short node display mode
  39.         Two modes of display are available, long and short. The default is
  40.         short, which displays the address, BBS name, sysop name, phone number
  41.         and node status. The long format adds a second line which includes the
  42.         city and modem information, but is slightly slower scanning the
  43.         nodelist. Note that the display mode has no effect on the scan
  44.         parameters.
