  1. With 3.0, Hottest Downloads is no longer freeware.  It is now a shareware
  2. program and must be registered after a 30-day evaluation period.  See
  3. REGISTER.DOC for details.

  5. Hottest Downloads now uses a dBase IV compatible database.  Therefore, if
  6. you are using an older version you must run the TODL30.EXE program in your
  7. Hottest Downloads directory.  This will convert the older DOWNLOAD.DAT file
  8. into DLOAD.DBF and DLOAD.MDX files.  After the conversion is complete, you
  9. can delete DOWNLOAD.DAT if you want to.

  11. You should also note that Hottest Downloads 3.0 uses a new configuration
  12. file format.  Therefore, you should modify your DOWNLOAD.CFG file so that
  13. it conforms with the format presented in the DOWNLOAD.DOC file.

  15. Because Hottest Downloads now uses @X color codes, it will no long create
  16. an ANSI version of the bulletin.  Therefore, if you are upgrading from
  17. a previous version, make sure that you delete any ANSI bulletins that older
  18. versions of Hottest Downloads may have created.
