Hottest Downloads 3.0
Copyright (c) 1992-1994 By TriSoft
This program is distributed on the shareware basis. You may use
it for a period of 30 days without registering it. See the file
REGISTER.DOC for registration information. After the 30-day evaluation
period has expired, you must register.
Hottest Downloads is a utility that generates a hottest downloads
bulletin. Hottest Downloads uses the TriBBS @X color codes so that
only one bulletin is necessary for both monochrome and ANSI.
To use Hottest Downloads, you must create a configuration file called
DOWNLOAD.CFG. A sample DOWNLOAD.CFG is included in the ZIP archive.
This file must reside in the same directory as DOWNLOAD.EXE and has
the following format:
Line 1 - The board's name
Line 2 - The sysops name
Line 3 - The name of the callers log
Line 4 - The name of the bulletin
Line 5 - Your registration code. Leave blank if unregistered.
The following is a sample DOWNLOAD.CFG file:
The Lobster Buoy
Mark Goodwin
c:\tribbs\mwork\callers.log
c:\tribbs\display\bullet6.bbs
000000000000
In order to update the bulletins after each call, create the
following BETWEEN.BAT file in your board's main directory:
DOWNLOAD
Hottest Downloads only records files that have been downloaded at
least twice in the hottest downloads bulletin.
Should you want to create a hottest downloads list for the current
month (or some other time period), simply delete the files DLOAD.DBF
and DLOAD.MDX at the beginning of each time period. This will force
Hottest Downloads to start counting all downloads from 0 again.
Support for Hottest Downloads may be obtained by calling The Lobster
Buoy at 207-941-0805, via FidoNet at 1:328/104, and via Internet via
mgoodwin@trisoft.com.
