LOCATHA INDUSTRIES, INC.
SUPPORT SITE APPLICATION
------------------------
Their are (3) three different kinds of Support Sites that a Sysop can be
for Locatha Industries. And, a sysop is not limited to just 1. These are
listed below:
I. Game Headquarters (See GAMEHQ.DOC)
II. Beta Support Site
III. Technical & Distribution Support Site
Each of these support site classifications have some stringent requirements
that MUST be adhered to. Locatha Industries reserves the right to revoke
your Support Status at any time without cause or notification. Any misuse
of your support status for any malice will result in immediate loss of
your status.
REQUIREMENT FOR A TECHNICAL & DISTRIBUTION SUPPORT SITE:
--------------------------------------------------------
A Technical/Distribution Support Site (TDSS) phone number list will be
shipped with each and every game we release. Therefore, we have to ensure
that this list is current and has dependable BBS's in it. This list will
hold the numbers where any of our products can be obtained. Becoming a
Locatha Industries TDSS, your board will gain the activity of out-of-state
callers calling to get the latest releases. This, of course, will give you
the opportunity to expand your user list a bit..and offer your board, if
not already, a little national and international exposure. We do offer you
promotional Ansi's to place on your system to advertise your placement
as an Official L.I. support site, in addition to Ansi's promoting the
games themselves.
This support status is the real workhorse of all 3 support status's.
Here we require a lot of the sysop's personal time. And for this devotion,
let me say right off the bat...that ALL TDSS's WILL receive free registered
versions of each and every game released by L.I. for as long as they
maintain their Support Status. For each approved TDSS we will assign a
territory. This will be the area that the sysop is required to offer
support to users and distribute our games. For each and every sale we
receive from that territory we will accredit that TDSS a point. As these
points begin to add up they can be exchanged for merchandise. Typical
merchandise includes; Hardrives, modems, tapebackups, etc...
(* This offer not valid where prohibited *)
You will be able to contact our Home System at (904)/388-4610 or
(904)/384-0694 to receive updates on your point status 24hrs a day. This
is an incentive program that we offer to TDSS's exclusively for their
valuable assistance at promoting our games and distribution.
The requirements of a TDSS are as follows:
1) Maintain downloadable copies of each and every
Product released by L.I.
2) Learn as much about each product as you can so that
you can assist callers with Technical problems.
3) Become active in the BETA testing of each new release
so that you can be familiar with the products before
they are released publicly.
4) Never turn away anyone requiring help to set up our
products. Even if this means assisting them with
proper installation of third party utilities.
5) If their is something you can not answer, or a problem
you can not solve give that user the L.I. Technical
support numbers (904)/387-9796 (voice) or any of our
DATA PHONE NUMBERS.
6) Have a Technical support conference on your system so
that you can be privy to any new information that may
be discovered by other Technical support sites.
7) Report about Technical questions that you have received
and how you solved the question so that other Technical
support sites may benefit from your experience.
8) A TDSS must be multi-node to adequately support their
local base of users as well as new users calling for
technical support and to obtain the latest versions
of L.I. products.
9) We encourage that each and every TDSS have a FRONT-END-
MAILER to assist with Upgrading versions of our
products easily. Also, to allow our games to be FREQ'd
from each TDSS system.
10) As we begin to build a strong resume of Networks, we may
in the future require the submission of an application
to one of the networks that Locatha Industries has
acquired a support conference in.
The Technical Support network is still in the making. However, we have
hi-hopes that in the near future we'll have a network that will interlink
all Technical Support sites including the Home Technical Support site. This
will provide a fast response system to allow for maximum support. Any
suggestions to improve or enhance this system are welcome by TDSS's
BETA SUPPORT SITE
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are looking for two major attributes when looking for BETA sites.
First and foremost, we're looking for a highly interactive sysop who is
eager to participate in the BETA testing of the games themselves. Of course,
with this requirement, we can't expect all BETA sites to be as eager about
all of our releases. So their is no rule of thumb on which games you, as
BETA site, are required to participate in. Each of us have our likes and
dislikes. One Beta Sysop may like War Games, while another Arcade style,
while yet another may be more into Adventure style. BETA testing is purely
voluntary. However, to obtain BETA Site status with us, you would have to
had helped us BETA test at least 1 of our games. That way we can ask you to
BETA test future releases. In addition to having had to BETA test at least
1 of our games. You must be a Registered owner of at least 1 of our games
also. The Second Major Attribute that we look for in a BETA test site is
System configuration. Their is no real rule of thumb on this either. We
analyze those system which are already BETA sites..and see what equipment,
hardware, software, or other features that we would like to test our games
on. A System that has really heavy activity in the doors area is a great
candidate also. After all, the goal here is to test the games. Once
you've been declared a BETA site, and have volunteered for a game, we do
expect a certain amount of thoroughness. Report bugs and errors as soon as
possible. If a user reports and error, get as much information on how he
found the error so that we can re-create the situation here and fix it. It
is rare that we would remove someone's status as BETA Site, however, if the
bug reports are lacking and in poor detail it is possible. So be sure you
are interested in BETA testing a game before you Volunteer.
Benefits to being a BETA site are somewhat obvious but I'll list them
here just the same. BETA sites have access to games before they are
released. In otherwords we try out on you what we wouldn't dare try out on
the public <g>. Also, your feature ideas, suggestions, and responses will
be taken into account before anyone elses. You may begin to be confusing
this status with a GHQ's job. Let me explain how we do things a little
and perhaps it will clear up a bit of confusion. We have 2 beta stages.
One is what we call IN-HOUSE BETA TESTING. This is what a BETA site will be
part of. The second is Release BETA testing which is what the GHQ's
will be part of. Sometimes if needed we will also have a WIDE AREA BETA
which everyone can get in on. And, finally we have the final release. As
an obvious benefit you will gain access to our games before anyone else.
And as for GHQ's your users will have the benefit of tactfully customizing
the game to their needs and desires..(as feature ideas...which as with GHQ's
we here at L.I. reserve the right to accept or decline any change or idea).
As with all Sites you will be given Promotional Ansi's to help support the
idea on your board, and promote the activity of the games themselves. Thats
all their is to BETA sites.
