  3. Here is the semi-intelligent, somewhat annual, sometimes boring, 
  4. somehow relevant, required rules of this here conference.
  5.  
  6. 1. STAY ON TOPIC (within boundries of friendly exchanges).
  7.  
  8. What is the topic?
  9.  
  10.   Herbs.  This means any plant that is used for domestic 
  11.   applications, including medicinal, culinary, aesthetic, 
  12.   auromatic, and other such things.
  13.  
  14.   Religion is not on-topic.  Even if the religious dialog 
  15.   involves herbs.  
  16.  
  17.   Those who want to talk to me about something, and it is not 
  18.   within the topic of herbs, USE NETMAIL.  Period.
  19.  
  20. 2. USE A REAL SOUNDING NAME IN THE HEADER OF YOUR MESSAGES, if at 
  21.   all possible.  If not, then do so IN THE BODY of the message.  
  22.   The preferred way is in the header.
  23.  
  24. Certain constraints and requirements are made of people who 
  25. participate in this Echo conference: 
  26.  
  27. Courtesy is required.  Arguments can happen, but flames and 
  28. insults are not allowed... If you have complaints about users of 
  29. the echo then voice them in direct net mail (if you are a sysop), 
  30. not in this echo. (Regular users can ask their sysop to forward 
  31. the netmail for them.) 
  32.  
  33. (Go drink some chamomile tea if someone gets on your nerves.)
  34.

  44. Of course, these are in a form that may be offensive... oh well!

  46.   1] Thou shalt not flame other participants in the conference. 
  47.   2] Thou shalt not reply to flames left by other people. 
  48.   3] Thou shalt keep to the topic of the echomail conference. 
  49.   4] Thou shalt not reply to off-topic messages. 
  50.   5] Thou shalt not discuss illegal things in an echomail 
  51.      conference. 
  52.   6] Thou shalt not use ANSI escape sequences in echomail 
  53.      messages. 
  54.   7] Thou shalt not use 8-bit ASCII characters in messages. 
  55.   8] Thou shalt listen to the moderator at all times. 
  56.   9] Thou shalt post messages in the language(s) designated by 
  57.      the moderator. 
  58.  10] Thou shalt not quote entire messages only to leave a one-
  59.      liner. 
  60.  11] Thou shalt not quote tear & origin lines unless it has 
  61.      some relevance in the message. 
  62.  12] Thou shalt not advertise BBSes unless otherwise specified. 
  63.  13] Thou shalt not post commercial advertisements unless 
  64.      otherwise specified. 
  65.  14] Thou shalt not get into "this product is better than that 
  66.      product" arguments in an echomail conference. 
  67.  15] Thou shalt not leave personal messages in an echomail 
  68.      conference.  (However, being "personal and warm" is hoped 
  69.      for!)
  70.  16] Thou shalt not post messages addressed to "Sysop" in an 
  71.      echomail conference. 
  72.  17] Thou shalt not use profanity unless otherwise specified. 
  73.  18] Thou shalt not thank each and every single person 
  74.      personally in an echo who has given thou help.  A single 
  75.      message thanking all at one time is sufficient. 
  76.  19] Thou shalt not reply to the same echomail message on more 
  77.      than one BBS. 
  78.  20] Thou shalt conduct thyself in a responsible and mature 
  79.      manner when dealing with other echomail participants. 
  80.  21] Thou shalt not be a weenie. 
  81.  22] Thou shalt use your real name, no aliases allowed; please 
  82.      use it somewhere in the message. 
  83.
