  4.                     CONFERENCE RULES FOR "FDECHO"

  10.   The topics of this conference should be related to FrontDoor and/or
  11.   TosScan, and utilities related to these programs.
  12.  
  13.   This is NOT a commercial support conference. Commercial inquiries,
  14.   support, questions, and other related information should be handled
  15.   via NetMail or other media as indicated by the commercial
  16.   distributors. This excludes feature announcements, inquiries, and
  17.   the discussion of TosScan.

  19.   Gating of this conference to other networks is not permitted
  20.   without explicit permission from me. We need to keep track of whom
  21.   is gating FDECHO where.
  22.  
  23.   This conference is NOT bound by FidoNet, it's open to any network
  24.   and system that wish to carry the conference (assuming the above
  25.   is followed). Messages in this conference should conform with the
  26.   FTSC (FidoNet Technical Standards Committee) format and must contain
  27.   a tear and origin line. The tear line may not be longer than 35
  28.   characters including the --- characters. The origin line must fit on
  29.   one 80 character wide CRT including the " # Origin: " text.
  30.  
  31.   Please keep the amount of quoted text down to the BARE ESSENTIALS.
  32.   Do not quote SEEN-BY and/or " # Origin: " information unless it is
  33.   ABSOLUTELY necessary. One of the biggest costs with distributed mail
  34.   conferences is the use and ABuse of the quote feature.

  36.   Your message must contain sufficient information to allow a Reply
  37.   via NetMail through known channels.
  38.  
  39.   Foul or harsh language is not tolerable and will not be accepted.
  40.   If you don't like what someone has to say for personal reasons, send
  41.   them a reply using NetMail - not EchoMail.

  43.   Eight-bit ASCII is not allowed in this conference. All characters in
  44.   displayed message data (text/header) must be in the range 32 to 126,
  45.   which rules out control characters. The exception to this rule is if
  46.   you need to show someone a translation table that contains eight-bit
  47.   ASCII.
  48.  
  49.   File listings and advertisements are not welcome either except from
  50.   authorized FrontDoor/TosScan dealers and from authors of FrontDoor/
  51.   TosScan utilities. Sample files and examples of batch files are,
  52.   however, welcome as they serve a purpose.

  54.   Please keep "Thank you" and "This is a test" messages in NETMAIL,
  55.   where they belong. People are paying plenty of money to ship this
  56.   conference around and if we can keep unnecessary overhead down,
  57.   we'll all be happier.

  59.   Before posting queries and/or questions about problems and their
  60.   solution, please make sure you have read the documentation for the
  61.   product in question. Too frequently, the questions asked can be
  62.   answered by simply reading a few paragraphs in the documentation.

  65.   one of them about it, don't post flames, etc. in the conference. If
  66.   any of the moderators tell you you're out of line, or tell you to
