CONFERENCE RULES FOR "FDECHO"
Joaquim H. Homrighausen (a Moderator) - 2:270/17@fidonet
---
The topics of this conference should be related to FrontDoor and/or
TosScan, and utilities related to these programs.
This is NOT a commercial support conference. Commercial inquiries,
support, questions, and other related information should be handled
via NetMail or other media as indicated by the commercial
distributors. This excludes feature announcements, inquiries, and
the discussion of TosScan.
Gating of this conference to other networks is not permitted
without explicit permission from me. We need to keep track of whom
is gating FDECHO where.
This conference is NOT bound by FidoNet, it's open to any network
and system that wish to carry the conference (assuming the above
is followed). Messages in this conference should conform with the
FTSC (FidoNet Technical Standards Committee) format and must contain
a tear and origin line. The tear line may not be longer than 35
characters including the --- characters. The origin line must fit on
one 80 character wide CRT including the " # Origin: " text.
Please keep the amount of quoted text down to the BARE ESSENTIALS.
Do not quote SEEN-BY and/or " # Origin: " information unless it is
ABSOLUTELY necessary. One of the biggest costs with distributed mail
conferences is the use and ABuse of the quote feature.
Your message must contain sufficient information to allow a Reply
via NetMail through known channels.
Foul or harsh language is not tolerable and will not be accepted.
If you don't like what someone has to say for personal reasons, send
them a reply using NetMail - not EchoMail.
Eight-bit ASCII is not allowed in this conference. All characters in
displayed message data (text/header) must be in the range 32 to 126,
which rules out control characters. The exception to this rule is if
you need to show someone a translation table that contains eight-bit
ASCII.
File listings and advertisements are not welcome either except from
authorized FrontDoor/TosScan dealers and from authors of FrontDoor/
TosScan utilities. Sample files and examples of batch files are,
however, welcome as they serve a purpose.
Please keep "Thank you" and "This is a test" messages in NETMAIL,
where they belong. People are paying plenty of money to ship this
conference around and if we can keep unnecessary overhead down,
we'll all be happier.
Before posting queries and/or questions about problems and their
solution, please make sure you have read the documentation for the
product in question. Too frequently, the questions asked can be
answered by simply reading a few paragraphs in the documentation.
There are three moderators, if you have a problem with someone, tell
one of them about it, don't post flames, etc. in the conference. If
any of the moderators tell you you're out of line, or tell you to
take it to netmail, please do so. The moderators are:
Myself, 2:270/17@fidonet
Bruce Bodger, 1:170/400@fidonet
Michael Butler, 3:712/515@fidonet
Treat others as you wish to be treated yourself.
Commercial inquiries can be sent to:
James Smith Tomas Bremin
Online Communications, Inc. Advanced Engineering sarl
1:132/300@fidonet 2:270/7@fidonet
or file request FDINFO from either of the above addresses. The
current noncommercial version is 2.02. The current commercial
version is 2.10.
