An International Conference for the discussion of Communications.
Appropriate topics include; Modems and protocols, Comm pgms,
Terminal emulation and BBS software, Telephone equipment &
services, Fax devices and software.
The discussion is primarily of a technical nature. No advacacy of
My widget is better than your widget. Discussions of policy and
procedures of other bodies or agencies will be requested to move
the discussion to a more appropriate echo area, or NetMail.
COMM Echo Tech, a beginners introduction to the world of comm and
its complex terminology, is featured tri-monthly (10/20/EOM).

This is the International Fidonet Echomail conference COMM.
This echo is for civilized, mature discussion. Personal
attacks and vilification have no place here.
Appropriate
topics include-
o modems o terminal emulation & BBS software
o fax devices o telephone equipment & services
o comm/fax s/w & protocols
Rules, policy, style, etc.
nothing below shall dilute Fidonet policy-
o All discussions regarding hardware/software shall be of a
technical nature only. No "My-Widget-Can-Beat-Your-Widget" msgs.
Departures from this shall be considered annoying behavior.
o speak politely-no flames or obscenities; do *not* quote filth
o quote only that which ties to your reply--stop QUOTAHOLISM
o advertising: only topic related announcement allowed
o submit all announcements of products/services to the moderator
o no unsolicited BBS ads
o the posting of "test" msgs is considered annoying behavior
o don't reply to inappropriate messages, leave it to the moderator
o chatting: move non topical communications talk to netmail
o limit announcements to one per fortnight
o use netmail for corresponding to the moderator; don't moderate
o don't use foreign languages, exc: recognized Intn'l phrases
o don't type in all upper case unless your equipment can't do lower
o don't use multi-line signatures
o no high-order ASCII characters-(>128) or ASCII CTRL codes
o telephone numbers: don't forget the country and area code
o propose changes to the above by Netmail to: Bat Lang (1:382/87)

echo, without regard to his status as Moderator. When he is acting
specifically as Moderator, he will sign his message as:
