-== DGS MERGES ==-
by:
Dan Shore - DGS (Wonder)
THE SHORELINE BBS
301-946-2771
Merge Name : Not Enough Download Time
Date : 8/23/92
Original Idea : Dan Shore
Programming : Dan Shore
Documentation : Dan Shore
History:
---------
When a user is on the BBS and they try to download files and they don't
have enough time to do so, the only entry that is listed to the CALLERS
file is: Not enough time, had xxx need yyy. While this is adequte to
know that the user tried to download more files then they had time for
the SysOp does not know what files they tried to download. Why is this
important. Well, most users that don't have enough time to download
files usually will call back with another name to get the files (that is
if your BBS does not have callback verification or some sort of way
to prevent this).
This merge will add to your CALLERS file the name of each file that the
user tried to download when they did not have enough time to do so. The
entry with the merge will now look like this:
FILENAME.ZIP Not enough time, Had XXXX Need YYYY
How to apply the merge:
-----------------------
I. To apply the merges (RSB5TIME.MRG) you will need BLED 2.2,
RBBS-PC 17.4/0704 code, and your favorite QB compiler.
The batch file TIMEMRG.BAT is supplied to assist you in adding
the code with BLED.
If you are running modified RBBS, I suggest that you cut the merges
in by hand and not with BLED to make sure no conflicts exist.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Files included in this archive:
-------------------------------
README.1ST - What you are now reading.
TIMEMRG.BAT - Batch file for using BLED to add the merge to RBBSSUB5.BAS
RSB5TIME.MRG - RBBSSUB5 merge - Merge to add filenames to the Not
enough time to download prompt in
the callers file
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Final Note:
-----------
With all the latest "hoopla" about distributing other folks code either
modified or not, I am releasing this to the RBBS world to do with as
they please. If you use it in your merges, either modified or not, all
I ask is for recognition that I originally wrote the merge.
Short, sweet, simple and in the "True Spirit" of RBBS-PC.
