DBTICK Tick & Wildcat File Forward v3.5 and D'Bridge interface!
By Dave Emory
Tony Wagner speaks:
Well heres a new toy to try out!
I asked a Local programer to help with all the File attach messages
I had to deal with when I was feeding SDS/SDN/PDN/etc
So heres a first release..
Its simple to use.
1) Put DBTICK.EXE somewhere in your path.
2) install dbtick in your batch file after you run WCFF or Tick
3) Create a DIR that is for DBTICK's use I called mine WILDTICK
4) Change the NETMAIL path in WCFF or Tick to use that dir instead of
your netmail dir to place to outgoing File attachs there.
5) The command line will look something like this.
DBTICK C:\DB\WCTICMSG /C:\DB\QUEUE /WCFF v3.5 /TIC /1 /0
1 2 3 4 5 6
1= your dir for out going file attachs
2= Your Queue dir
3= the EXACT from: line created by WCFF/TICK
4= the extention of .TIC or .FLE
5= Default Zone #
6= Default Point #
You WCFF.CFG file should look something like this:
origzone 1
netnode 282/85
wildcat C:\WC30
infiles C:\DB\FILES
inmail C:\DB\FILES
outfiles C:\DB\wctic <<<<<------ * see note
oldfiles C:\DB\FILES\OLD
fido
mail c:\db\wcticmsg <<<<<------ * see note

*NOTE: Make certain that these two directories ARE NOT pointed
to in D'BRIDGE. They must ONLY be seen by WCFF and DBTICK.
DBTICK will automatically maintain both the .TIC and the .MSG
files created by WCFF. DBTICK creates a DBRIDGE QUEUE from the
Wildcat File Forward .TIC and .MSG files. This keeps the number
of messages in your NETMAIL directory to a minimum. You can then
run WCFF with the -N parameter so that it no longer scans the
netmail messages in the D'Bridge path and exits out immediately
after tossing the files.
Be sure to run DBTICK after every running of WCFF v3.5!
Enjoy :-)
Thanks to
Dave Emory @ 105/360 who put up with my bugging him to help me with
the slow scan that .TIC's cause in D'Bridge
BTW Dave has writen several neat Utils for D'Bridge
FA2DBQ.EXE
A converter that takes Squish File attach messages and converts them to
D'Bridge Queue entrys.
MakeKS.EXE
A util that takes and adds the Kill/sent flag to all in transit messages
and also moves all Recived messages out of the Netmail dir to a OLDMAIL dir.
With these util's I have gone from 100-300 messages to scan down
to 0-10 messages
