BBS Information
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
═══ BBS name
The name of your BBS.
═══ Sysop name
This is your name file. When registering,
it is imperative that you specify the name
exactly as it appears here INCLUDING WHICH
LETTERS ARE CAPITALS. For example the names
'Darryl Olthoff' and 'Darryl olthoff' are
two different Sysop names as the "R" is
uppercase in one, and lower case in the
other. The same goes for the System name
above.
═══ Registeration Info
Here you enter both your serial number and
your registration number when you have
received your registration key.
═══ Path to USER.BBS
This is where you enter the path to the user
file. If the file does not exist in the
path, you will be warned, however the change
will be allowed.
═══ Path to JAMBASE
The path to the jambase must also include
the message area you would like the messages
posted to. Once again, you will be warned
if the file doesn't exist, but will permit
the change.
Data Checking
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
═══ Check Duplicates
If you would like to check the phone number
to the other users number, set this option
to YES.
═══ Action on Dupes
If you are checking for duplicate phone
numbers, then there are three options. You
can abort the CVS door, you can hang up on
user, or you can let him continue with the
door.
═══ Change Phone Number
This option lets you decide whether or not
allow your users to change the phone number
they will be called back at.
═══ Default Area Code
The default areacode is the areacode that
will be entered if the user does not enter
an areacode.
Data Checking
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
═══ Verify LD Callers
If you don't mind calling the long distance
to validate your users, the turn this option
to YES.
═══ Verification Action
Once the user has verified his name, you can
either let the user continue his call, or
hangup.
Loop Settings
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
═══ Dialing Attempts
This option allows you to set how many times
the user should be called. CVS will call
user this many times, or until a connection
is made.
═══ Name Validation
This allows you to set the number of times
that a user can enter his name to verify
with CVS.
Phone Settings
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
═══ Dialing Type
Would you like to dialout using the tones,
or the pulse?
═══ Init String
This is the modem initialization string. Use
whatever options your modem requires.
Security Options
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
═══ Passing Security
This is the security level the user will be
given when correctly verifying the name.
═══ Failing Security
This is the security level the user will be
given when incorrectly verifying the name.
File Based Settings
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
═══ CVS.CTL
The local prefix section lists area codes
that you are willing to call, usually your
specific area code will be sufficient.
[LOCAL PREFIX]
519- Allows 519 area code to be called
The bad phone numbers section lists phone
numbers that can not be called. Police and
delivery numbers might be a good idea. The
number, if it is not a complete number must
be trailed by a - or any number with that
sequence will be denied. Lines beginning
with a ; will not be read. This is so that
phone numbers can be commented.
[BAD PHONE NUMBERS]
434-4444
;Kentucky Fried Chicken Delivery
911-
;Police emergency
976-
;Pay per call lines
000-
;Operator
If you were to simply use 0 to deny access
the operator, then all phone numbers with
the number 0 will be denied. (ie 660-1234)
This file must exist in the same path as
the executable.
═══ CVSHELP
This file can be both ANSI and ASCII. This
allows the sysop to create custom help for
their users. Only the .ASC file must exist
for display, but ANSI users might enjoy an
ANSI screen. This file must be located with
the executable.
═══ SYSOP.MSG
If this file is found in the same directory
as the executable, this message will be sent
to the sysop, once the door has successfully
been completed. This file can be editted to
use all possible METASTRINGS. (Below)

Environment Settings
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
═══ SET CVS=DUPELEVEL:##
When checking for duplicate phone numbers,
CVS by default checks all users. If you wish
to check for duplicate numbers against users
with security levels greater than a certain
number, you can change it by setting the
environment variable to the desired number.
Remember that you can remove the environment
variable after you run the program from a
batch file. For example:
@ECHO OFF
SET CVS=DUPELEVEL:10
CVS %1
SET CVS=

║ CVS.EXE - The program ║
╙───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────╜
CVS should be run from the directory that the EXITINFO.BBS file is
created. Normally during a drop from the BBS, this is the directory
you will be in. The files that come with CVS should all be placed
in the same directory, as CVS will look for them in the directory
that the CVS.EXE file is in.
