AMERICAN CHRISTIAN FAMILY NETWORK STATEMENT OF POLICY
"THE NETWORK OF FAMILY VALUES"
----------
ORIGINAL DOCUMENT DATED: SEPTEMBER 25, 1994
----------
REVISION NO. 3, DATED: DECEMBER 28, 1994
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The American Christian Family Network has been organized to fill a
need in the people of this country, particularly Christians, who are seeking
information, advice, and fellowship with those who share a similar burden.
It's foundational purpose is obedient to Galatians 6:2, "Carry each other's
burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." It is also a
place for people to where Christian oriented and/or family callers chat with
each other WITHOUT having to see the angry, hostile, and childish messages,
such as often are found on virtually all the exiting networks.
The American Christian Family Network (ACFN) is the copyrighted
property of Paul W. Cavnar. ACFN is an association of of NETMAIL compat-
ible computer bulletin boards (BBS). Participation is a privilege and not
a given right. All benefits available to ACFN member BBS's are granted
conditionally and are revokable at any time without notice, at the discretion
of any appointed network official. Although this network is open to all, we
hereby reserve the right to refuse access to anyone.
All messages entered into this system become the exclusive property of
Paul W. Cavnar. No messages or attached files may be cross-linked to other
networks without the permission of the owner of ACFN.
The purpose of this network is to provide an ongoing platform for the
exchange of information related to, but not limited to, the American
Christian Family, as a celebration of our Judeo-Christian heritage in this
country and the freedom we cherish as it's citizens. Persons participating
in the network need not be Christians to do so. It is our hope that those
who are not would find that our Lord's truth in the Bible would lead them to
a better understanding of their need for salvation therefore, all evangel-
istic efforts are wholeheartedly encouraged.
ACFN is not affiliated directly with any church, para-church, or
organization of any kind. ACFN officers and registered, independent elec-
tronic bulletin board System Operators (SysOp) acting as regional hosts,
network hubs, and individual nodes, are in authority limited by their policy
agreements with the network coordinator. All are empowered to restrict
access to this network by any individual, group, or organization, through
their particular system. It is our intent to make all public areas of ACFN
available to enyone accessing BBS's that carry this network and to do so
freely and without fees or subscription.
All ACFN conferences are moderated and monitored by each system's
operators in order to maintain the standard we require. However, ACFN, it's
officials and the System Operators carrying this network neither endorse or
reject statements and discussions on any subject within the message areas.
We do not need to be agreement with any statements posted so long as it does
meet the criteria required for acceptable posting within the network.
SysOps carrying ACFN echo areas must allow open access to registered
callers in all public areas of the network. SysOps who operate a BBS by
subscription cannot include ACFN areas in their subscription areas and must
allow free access to their users.
ACFN may be carried by any system with a compatable mailer such as
FrontDoor, D'Bridge, Binkley Term, or any other that functions under the FTS
FIDO Technical Standards format. BBS software packages with built-in FTS
compatible software are acceptable.
SysOps must carry the minimum required echo areas and may carry all
if they wish to do so. Mail runs must be no less frequent than twice weekly
and may be as often as daily. Schedule for mail runs shall be arranged
between hosts and hubs, hubs and nodes, nodes and points.
Point BBS's are the direct responsibility of their boss node BBS.
Point BBS's will not appear in the regular nodelist. BBS's carrying the net
via .QWK/.REP format are the direct responsibility of their boss node BBS.
QWK nodes will not appear in the regular nodelist but, will be included in a
special nodelist showing their host (boss node) in an outline format.
The ACFN nodelist will be revised and updated as required as often as
weekly or no less often than monthly.
