1. What is ABAD ?
ABAD is a utility to scan the BadTics-directory of ALLFIX.
It creates a report what .TIC-files are in your BadTics-folder and what
was the reason for not processing.
2. System Hardware and Software Requirements
* IBM PC, XT, AT or 100% compatible, with hard drive.
* Microsoft MS-DOS or IBM PC-DOS 3.0 or higher.
* ALLFIX 4.20 - File-Echo-Processor by Harald Harms

4. How to use ABAD
Well, there is not much to say about this...
Make sure the ALLFIX-environment-variable is set.
All needed information will be taken from the Allfix-Setup
- so you do not need an extra config for ABAD.
ABAD can create a report on screen or create an external
report-file.
For the on-screen-report just call ABAD without commandline parameters.
To redirect output to an external report-file just pass the
output filename on the command-line.
Example:
ABAD - report on your monitor
ABAD ABAD.RPT - external report-file 'ABAD.RPT'
ABAD C:\FD\ALLFIX\BADTIC.TXT - report-file 'BADTIC.TXT' in directory 'BADTIC.TXT' in the directory
'C:\FD\ALLFIX'
Following is a summary of the possible reasons ABAD will report:
file missing:
There is no file with the filename mentioned in the .tic-file
in the BadTics-dir.
unknown file-echo:
Your ALLFIX does not know a file-echo with this name.
sec violation:
The sender is not allowed to send files in this file-echo.
password error:
The password in the tic-file does not match the password in the
node-manager.
bad crc:
The crc of the file is not the same as stated in the tic-file.
dupe:
You already received the same file in the file-echo.
no idea!:
If all of the above does not fit...
Could it be that you copied some tics with files to the badmail-dir
to check what ABAD would say to this ? ;-)
