MMX enhanced WinGlide v0.8 - 4/11/98
Enhancements Copr. 1998 Chris Dohnal

Based on
WinGlide v0.5 - 1/4/1998

MMX enhanced WinGlide uses MMX instructions to boost performance slightly over Pentium enhanced
WinGlide.
* Will not work with scanline interleaved systems.
What is WinGlide?
WinGlide allows 3Dfx Voodoo Graphics boards to output to a window.
The included glide2x.dll works by intercepting a few calls to the 3Dfx card and copying each
completed frame from the 3Dfx card to your 2D card.
The included glide2x.dll needs the glide2x.dll from 3Dfx to work properly. You should leave the
3Dfx glide2x.dll in your Windows or Windows\System directory and put the included glide2x.dll in
the same directory as the applications that you want to use it with. If you want to use it with
Quake2, put the included glide2x.dll in your Quake2 directory.
DO NOT COPY THE INCLUDED GLIDE2X.DLL INTO YOUR WINDOWS OR SYSTEM DIRECTORIES.
To run Quake 2 in a window, select the 3Dfx OpenGL driver and select a windowed video mode that
is not larger than 640x480.
To run GLQuake in a window, use the -window parameter and use the -width parameter to specify
the width of the window. The maximum supported width is 640.
For example,
glquake -window -width 512
would start GLQuake in a 512x384 window.
Notes:
* Framerate goes way down.
* Possibly incompatible with some applications. Not all of glide2x.dll is passed through.
* Will not work with applications that do not supply a window handle.
* Tested on my computer with Quake 2 and GL Quake.
