  29.     FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO THE LETTER FOR THIS CRACK:

  31.      1.  Make sure you're NOT RUNNING Blowfish.  Close the program completely.
  32.     2.  Copy the crack file (ripcrack.exe) into the blowfish directory
  33.     3.  *OPTIONAL* Make a backup copy of BFA97.EXE
  34.     4.  Run the crack, 1 byte in BFA97.EXE will be changed.
  35.     5.  Blowfish is now a registered version.  Enjoy.

  37. [More Notes ] This was a pretty easy one.  I found an earlier patch by Jon'98 but it
  38.           didn't work on version 1.07.  According to Jon, one byte needed to be 
  39.           changed in the registration routine.  After a little debugging, I found
  40.           this to be true.  Whether we changed the same byte or not I don't
  41.               know, but my patch works.  :)  My patcher should work on later versions
  42.               of the program, as it seeks out and finds the hex to patch.  However, my
  43.               patch won't work if the program author changes the name from BFA97.EXE to
  44.           BFA98.EXE.  Since it's now 1998, that might happen.  If so, just rename the
  45.               program to BFA97.EXE before you try the patch.  Maybe it'll still work.
