  9. What is it?  See the *morning.txt* file in the zip

  11. Instructions: Unzip the patcher (mpap31-c.exe) into the directory
  12.               where you installed the program. Then just double click
  13.               on this file.  You will see a DOS window pop up and some
  14.               text appear in the window.  You'll be asked if you want to
  15.               apply  the patch.  Press "Y" for yes and "N" for no.  The patcher
  16.               checks file size, so if you have the wrong version, you'll get an
  17.               error message.  Make sure the size of your 'morning.exe' file is
  18.               exactly 148,992 bytes.  This patcher will NOT automatically
  19.               create a backup of the executable file so you should do this
  20.               manually before you run the patch.  
  21.               When you're done, you may delete the patch file (mpap31-c.exe)

  23.               When you run the program the next time, hit the "UNLOCK" button
  24.               on the nag screen and enter any code and it will be accepted.
  25.               You'll then need to shut down and restart the program in order
  26.               for the program to behave in a registered fashion.

  28. What the patch does: Patches the program executable.  Patching is process
  29.                      that involves changing the value of some of the program
  30.                      bytes in a way that "neutralizes" or bypasses the
  31.                      program's protection.

  34. Notes:  Most minor program releases such as this one (v1.30 --> v1.31) will
  35.         not incorporate any new shareware protection schemes.  Creating a new
  36.         crack for this subrelease requires very little skill.  Basically, just
  37.         find the byte sequence that was changed by the earlier patcher (by
  38.         comparing a patched and unpatched copy of the file).  Then search for
  39.         that string in the executable of the new version, and make the same
  40.         changes to it.  Doesn't always work but VERY often it does.  I refer
  41.         to this as "transplanting" a patch.  Others may see it differently :p
  42.         In this case, the patching was done by a member of Phrozen Crew.  For
