  1. R0b's GENERIC NERO V3.0.x.x PATCHER (04/98)

  3. Will search any version NERO.EXE file and patch
  4. to full version. Wrote patch using Turbo C V3.
  5. Tested on NERO V 3.0.3.5, 3.0.3.6, 3.0.4.0.

  7. INSTALLING NERO UPGRADE:
  8. ========================
  9. Method 1.
  10. ---------
  11.  
  12. Manually extract NE3040UP.EXE with pkunzip to a directory
  13. and run patch file. eg,
  14.  
  15. > md c:\nero
  16. > pkunzip NE3040UP.EXE c:\nero
  17.  
  18. run the patch file in c:\nero
  19. ============
  20.  
  21.  
  22. Method 2.
  23. ---------
  24. Run NE3040UP.EXE,
  25. NERO files are extracted to \windows\temp\~WZ001764.TMP\  (or similar)
  26. A search is done for previous version.
  27. Dialog box pop up: '(null) could not be found. OK.'
  28. NERO files are deleted.
  29. No NERO :(
  30.  
  31. So, BEFORE you hit OK button on dialog box,
  32. goto your \windows\temp\ directory, look for Nero
  33. files in subdirectory ~WZ001764.TMP\   (or similar)
  34. Now copy Nero files in there to another directory;
  35.  
  36. example, 
  37.  
  38. > cd \windows\temp\~WZ001764.TMP
  39. > md \nero
  40. > copy *.* \nero
  41. > cd \nero
  42.  
  43. now copy patch file to \nero and run.

  47. BTW, V 3.0.4.0 contains windows registry files (.REG) with
  48. NERO settings.
