- UNCOMPRESSING "ZIPPED" FILES
-
-
- Once the file has been transferred to your computer, it now has to be
- "unzipped". YOU must have already downloaded the "PKZ110.exe" file.
- (Ampakage
- will be explained in another section) If you don't have the file, it may be
- found here in out transfer section.
-
-
- You can use pkz110 in 2 ways:
-
- 1) Make a directory, and place pkz110.exe in it - or
- 2) Place pkz110.exe in your dos directory
-
- **NOTE** In order to use pkunzip, you must be in the path !
-
- Example: C:\PKZ110> pkunzip [filename]
-
- Placing pkz110.exe in dos allows you to use pkunzip and pkzip anywhere on
- your system (any directory) however, you may want to delete unecessary files
- such as docs and text files later. Once pkz110.exe is placed where you intend
- to use it, you must now type: PKZ110.EXE. This is called a "self extracting"
- file, and will explode itself making pkunzip ready to use.
-
-
- That's it! In order to save hard drive space, I would like to suggest that
- you unzip files to a floppy drive. Unzipping files in one directory can get
- very cluttered and very hard to remove unwanted programs....
-
- To do this, give unzip an outpath:
-
- Example: C:\[DIR NAME]> pkunzip [filename] b:\
-
- Separate directories can then be made on your floppies, to contain your
- various programs. If you would like to keep the program on your hard drive,
- give that path:
-
- Example: C\[DIR NAME]> pkunzip [filename] C:\[DIR NAME]
