- REFERENCE: (Explained in the instructions)
-
- ACCESS CODES BEGINNING FROM 1 TO 4 - ACCESS TO ALL SCREENS
-
- ACCESS CODES BEGINNING FROM 5 TO 9 - SPECIAL ACCESS AND ALARM W/PHONE TRACE
-
-
- THE STORY: (Should go something like this!)
-
- "I received this program from a friend of mine who is a programmer for a large
- aerospace company. He loves to hack into mainframe computers. I think he
- obtained this program from a friend of his in the company security clearance
- office. He showed me how to use it. I'll show you how to access the FBI
- computer in Washington, DC and check my own record. (He will insist on seeing
- his record too!). At the warning screen you just say "AW, disregard that,
- they can't tell who's accessing their computer!"
-
- HINT: Have your own record already entered, make it good, AN OUTSTANDING
- CITIZEN! (Of course your friends record may not be so hot!) Make
- sure your friends record has been previously entered. (See INPUT
- INSTRUCTIONS below).
-
- HINT: For your own record, make sure all your access codes begin with
- numbers from 1 to 4. Example: 13R7T, etc. For your friend you can
- use access numbers such as 53R7T, etc.
-
- PROGRAM OPERATION:
-
- Type "FBITERM" at the DOS prompt (without the quotes, quotes used in these
- instructions are for what you type, or see, do not use.)
-
- The program will give the impression a phone number is being dialed and a
- connection made when a data carrier is detected. No modem is actually
- required or used to run this program however.
-
- A warning screen will come up asking for an access code. There are four
- possible responses here. Access codes beginning from 1 to 4 for complete
- access to all screens. Access codes beginning from 5 to 9 for limited
- access because the subjects file is supposedly being updated. Entering
- "INPUT" to create a series of phoney files or typing "MANUAL" for these
- instructions.
-
- NEXT - A request on the screen for the subjects last name. (Enter your
- friends last name only and press ENTER.)
- A request for the subjects first name and middle initial.
- A request for the subjects Social Security Number (enter your
- friends SSN in this format "123-45-6789" do not use this number,
- ask him for his actual SSN and type that in!)
-
- NEXT - "Personal Statistics Screen" or if you haven't entered anything
- with this last name, a message will be received which says
- "This subject does not have an FBI data file." (This is to cover
- those situations where someone wants to check their record and
- you haven't entered anything yet!)
-
- NEXT - If you answer "Y" to the personal history question at the bottom
- of the "statistics" screen, you will be presented with a "Personal
- History File"

-
- NOTE: If you entered an access code starting with a number greater than
- 4 on the warning screen, you will not be allowed direct access to
- the subjects personal history file because it is supposedly being
- updated and requires special access to an investigative file!
-
- NOTE: Entering a special access code starting with a number less than
- 5 will grant you access to the investigative file. If you enter a
- code starting with 5 or more, you will receive an alarm, an
- "UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS" message showing your own home telephone number,
- City & State, a message saying "Local Authorities Notified" and a
- simulated disconnect from the FBI computer!
-
- INPUT INSTRUCTIONS:
-
- 1. At the warning screen type "INPUT" and press enter.
-
- 2. (P)ersonal Data or (A)larm Data?
- A. Type "P" to enter information in all screens.
- B. Type "A" to enter you home phone number, city & state for the
- alarm/telephone trace.
-
- NOTE: There is a practice file already made called "DOE", type this
- in when ask for the "last name:" Doesn't matter what first
- name and middle initial you use or what SSN number is entered.
-
- SPECIAL NOTE: Tell them it's just a joke if it looks like they are having
- a heart attack!!!!!!! (Ha, Ha)
