FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Project Gutenberg CD ROM contains the etexts (electronic texts) collected by the University of Illinois' Project Gutenberg during 1991, 1992, and 1993 through July. The etext include: classic literature such as Aesop's Fables, Alice in Wonderland, Moby Dick, and Paradise Lost; historical documents such as the Magna Carta, US Declaration of Independence, US Constitution, and Inaugural Addresses; references such as Roget's Thesaurus, almanacs, census data, the CIA World Fact Book,and mathematical constants; religious documents such as the Bible, and the Book of Mormon. The University of Illinois' Project Gutenberg encourages the creation and distribution of English-language electronic texts. Its goal is to provide a collection of the 10,000 most used books by the year 2001, and make them available to more than 100 million people. This CD ROM conforms to ISO-9660, the most common and generic format. All files are in plain vanilla ASCII. So, this disc is accessible to the widest variety of computers. The disc also contains an optional, menu-driven file viewer. The Project Gutenberg disc is available immediately for a retail price of $39.95.
