  13. The following list lists the model of the car and which way 
  14. you need to use the slim jim in order to gain access to the 
  15. vehicle... this is for the lightweight small slim jim.

  48. * You can use either the smaller model slim jim to push but
  49.   sometimes the solid huge heavy ones are easier.  Probes you 
  50.   can get into easy with either of them.

  53. Understanding how to slim jim:
  54.  
  55. In car doors there is a control arm that extends from the
  56. inside end of the door lock cylinder.  When the key turns,
  57. the control arm and connecting linkage are "activated" to
  58. lock and unlock the door.  It's quite simple when it comes
  59. down to it.  The control arm is only like 3/4" long and is 
  60. not always easy to locate.  It's almost always located within
  61. a few inches of the door lock (the part you pull up that is 
  62. like 5 inches higher then the outside keylock).  If it has 
  63. electronic locks with the pop up deal, try finding the control
  64. arm near where the power switch is.

  66. In the majority of American cars.. it's been noted that you need 
  67. to push down.. sometimes you need to bend the end of the slim jim
  68. in order to work with the thickness of the door.  Just slide it 
  69. in past the black weatherstripping stuff and go slowly.  It's not
  70. easy at first.. but once you get the hang of it.. it's easy.  Of 
  71. course you must remember any slim jimming can only be done with 
  72. the vehicle owner's consent (just haaaaaaad to add that :) )
