UFO Like a Big Cigar
Four people have reported seeing a mysterious and luminous "cigar-shaped"
object hovering in the sky near their home in western Victoria.
It is the second report this month of a similarly described unidentified
flying object and the latest in an apparent rash of UFO sightings.
Chris Moore and her boyfriend, mechanic John Vagg, said they saw the
object above their property near ballarat, west of Melbourne at 10:30 pm
on Sunday.
The two, who live between Durham Lead and Buninyong, 13 km south of
Ballarat, reported it to the National UFO Reporting and Sighting
Hotline. Ms Moore's daughter and cousin also saw the UFO.
A reported sighting of an unexplained "cigar-shaped object" in the sky
was made on May 6 in Perth, Western Australia.
On Sunday night, a Brisbane family said they saw a mysterious objecct in
the sky which they caught on video.
A Melbourne man said that he photographed "an orange-ish fireball"
reportedly seen by people in the suburbs of Heidelburg and Ivanhoe yesterday.
Mr Vagg, 30, said yesterday that the object was larger than an
aeroplane, solid and white with red and blue near its center.
He said it moved without a sound.
Ms moore who came out with her daughter and cousin when M Vagg called,
said: "It was like a cigar-shaped object standing on its end and it
appeared to have a spiral of light around it."
Hotline director, Ross Dowe said that the four witnesses estimated that
the object had taken two to four seconds to zoom about 50km south.
Mr. Dowe said his hotline took a number of calls from people who claimed
to have seen the object about 30 to 6 metres over head, moving slowly
towards the Dandenong Ranges.
The service was also recieved a report from six witnesses claiming to
have seen a circular light in the bendigo area on Friday night.
