  3. VirusNet is a complete anti-virus and disaster recovery system from
  4. Safetynet, Inc.  It detects and removes known and unknown viruses,
  5. and includes a disaster recovery feature that can revive workstations

  10. VirusNet 95 may be registered on-line through our WWW site
  11. <http://www.safe.net>.  After registering the software, you will receive
  12. an activation code which will turn the program into the commercial
  13. version.  Your WWW order is protected by Secure Socket Layer using
  14. 128-bit encryption.

  17. expire within two months of use.

  24. Multi-Platform Support
  25. ----------------------
  26. VirusNet is shipped with Windows 95, Windows 3.x and DOS versions.
  27. It is compabible with DOS, network, NTFS and HPFS drives.  VirusNet
  28. supports all major networks including Netware, NT Advanced Server,
  29. Vines, LAN Manager, LAN Server, Pathworks, and Windows for Workgroups.

  31. Known Virus Detection
  32. ---------------------
  33. The VirusNet Secure scan recently received outstanding
  34. detection scores of 99.2% in the Lambdin test and 96% in the
  35. VSUM test.  Dual signatures allow it to accurately detect viruses
  36. without producing false alarms.  Advanced algorithms are used to
  37. detect mutation, stealth and polymorphic viruses.

  39. Unknown Virus Detection
  40. -----------------------
  41. VirusNet uses heuristic and checksum scanning to detect unknown
  42. viruses.  Its heuristic scanner can detect unknown viruses by
  43. determining if a program contains suspicious or destructive code. It
  44. is highly effective at detecting new viruses.

  46. Checksum scanning is used to detect changes in program files and
  47. boot tracks.  It is highly effective at detecting new viruses.  An
  48. Exclude Files option eliminates false alarms.

  50. Background Monitor
  51. ------------------
  52. Powerful real-time protection is provided for PCs running
  53. Windows 95, Windows 3.x and DOS.  The background monitor
  54. automatically detects viruses before diskettes are accessed and
  55. files are run.  This provides a strong defense against viruses
  56. transmitted from diskettes, a local area network and the Internet.

  58. Spectrum Scanning
  59. -----------------
  60. The VirusNet scanner can be run automatically at predefined
  61. intervals when Windows starts, or after a period of system
  62. inactivity.

  64. Macro Virus Removal
  65. -------------------
  66. VirusNet includes the powerful VNmacro(tm) program to detect
  67. and remove MS-Windows macro viruses.  Its top-rated protection
  68. does not just deactivate macro viruses, but actually restores
  69. files back to their original uninfected state.

  71. Disaster Recovery
  72. -----------------
  73. If a PC hard disk becomes corrupted, or its CMOS battery fails,
  74. the Rescue Disk feature can quickly revive the PC.  Rescue Disk
  75. maintains each workstation's boot track, CMOS, and partition table.
  76. This information can be stored for all PCs in a central database
  77. on the network or on a floppy diskette.  When a workstation fails
  78. to boot, use Rescue Disk to restore the workstation in seconds!

  80. VirusNet LAN Features
  81. ---------------------
  82. VirusNet LAN includes Safetynet's LAN Scheduler & Distribution
  83. system (LANSD).  LANSD provides network control over workstation
  84. scanning and software updates.  Scans can be performed during
  85. workstation bootup, network login, or in the background from Windows.
  86. Events such as tape backups and modem transfers can also be
  87. scheduled.  Software distribution for up to 100 programs and 100,000
  88. files is provided.  LANSD installs itself to each workstation and
  89. automatically makes changes to each AUTOEXEC.BAT and WIN.INI file as
  90. required.
