  8. **SPECIFICATION                                     *
  9. * SWIMMING requires a PC with a minimum             *
  10. * specification of 386 processor, 4MB RAM, mouse,   *
  11. * 640x480x256col resolution.                        *
  12. * Recommended spec. 486 as above +Sound Blaster or  *
  13. * compatible sound card.                            *

  15. **TROUBLESHOOTING                                   *
  16. ***GRAPHICS                                         *
  17. * The program's graphic display will work happily   *
  18. * with most graphic cards supporting the resolution *
  19. * indicated above. However some cards do cause      *
  20. * the program to abort when it checks compatibility *
  21. * (the error message at the top of the screen says  *
  22. * "This program requires 640x480x256....).          *
  23. * This occurs with cards which support the          *
  24. * resolution but DON'T support VESA 1.2. If your    *
  25. * graphics card driver disks don't include a VESA   *
  26. * driver, we recommend the excellent UNIVESA        * 
  27. * program which provides alternative VESA support   *
  28. * for a wide range of graphics cards.               *
  29. ***SOUND                                            *
  30. * Some (two) users with 16-bit soundcards have      *
  31. * experienced difficulty in getting SWIMMING to play*
  32. * it's sampled speech. If you have this problem,    *
  33. * ensure that you are running SWIMMING from DOS, not*
  34. * Windows or DOSShell as these can both prevent the *
  35. * sound from operating on some systems.             *
  36. * This problem has now been corrected in the full   *
  37. * version of the program.                           *
