  4.  So I guess if you're reading this you need some assistance.
  5.  
  6.  Well to begin with, if programs are installing but not running the
  7.  first things to check are these :-
  8.  
  9.     * Are you running the right machine i.e 386 rather than 286 (this
  10.       obviously depends on the game requirements (usually in the disk pages)
  11.  
  12.     * Do you have enough total memory for the game (some games now need a
  13.       minimum of 8 megabytes). The majority need 4Mb's now.
  14.  
  15.     * Make sure you are running this menu system from windows  
  16.  
  17.     * If you are running Windows '95 you may have to restart in MS-DOS
  18.       mode from the shut-down menu and then run some of the programs
  19.       directly from the CD-ROM.
  20.  
  21.     * Is you EMM386 Memory manager, in the CONFIG.SYS set correctly
  22.       for the game (either NOEMS or RAM best to try both).                   
  23.  
  24.     * Do you have enough base CONVENTIONAL memory free. Find out by typing
  25.       MEM at the C:> (Some games need in excess of 580k) If you haven't
  26.       enough memory try either running MEMMAKER from DOS or making a
  27.       bootdisk.

  29.  If all else fails and you're sure it should run but doesn't. Give the
  30.  technical support line a quick call between 4:00 and 5:30 on 01202 299900
  31.  and ask for me, Chris Gavin-Egan. If I'm not available I'll do my best to get
  32.  back to you as soon as I can.

  34.  Lastly if your CD ROM drive doesn't even recognize the CD ROM User CD then
  35.  send it back to us FREEPOST to the address below and we'll check out
  36.  the disk and send you a replacement hopefully within a week.

  45.  If you encounter any problems with the shareware not un-zipping or 
  46.  installing properly, you can manually un-zip them by using the PKUNZIP.EXE
  47.  program. An example of the command line would be :-
  48.  
  49.                 PKUNZIP -D ABCD.ZIP C:\TESTDIR
  50.  
  51.  Where ABCD.ZIP is source file to decompress, on the CD-ROM
  52.  C:\TESTDIR is the destination directory. Oh and don't forget to put in
  53.  the -D parameter as this makes sure that any directory names within the
  54.  zip file are also used.
