  3. You will find this program to be extremely helpful in memorizing
  4. scholastic or professional material.  Its multi-media graphic 
  5. and sound capabilities also make it easy to create your own 
  6. trivia-style games for fun!
  7.  
  8. While WinFlash is very easy to use, I'd still recommend a quick
  9. look at the on-line Help before "jumping in".  I hope you'll
  10. find WinFlash both useful and enjoyable!

  18. WinFlash v3.1 is distributed as an archive file, FLASH_31.ZIP 
  19. (FLASH.ZIP on CompuServe), containing the following files:
  20.     
  21.     SETUPWF.EXE - The  installation program for WinFlash v3.1
  22.     FILE_ID.DIZ - Program description used by BBSs
  23.     README.TXT - Short text file with installation 
  24.                      instructions (this file)
  25.     VENDOR.TXT - Information of interest to shareware 
  26.                      distributors and BBSs
  27.  
  28. The following files are in compressed format and will be 
  29. expanded by SETUPWF.EXE when it is run.  They CANNOT be used 
  30. directly:

  32.     ALLNFL.BM_ - Companion .BMP file needed for operation 
  33.                      of WINFLS31.FLS
  34.     BRONCO.BM_ - Companion .BMP file needed for operation 
  35.                      of WINFLS31.FLS
  36.     CHIMES.WA_ - Companion .WAV file needed for operation 
  37.                      of WINFLS31.FLS
  38.     TADA.WA_ - Companion .WAV file needed for operation 
  39.                    of WINFLS31.FLS
  40.     WINFLS31.EX_ - The executable program file
  41.     WINFLS31.HL_ - The help file supporting WinFlash v3.1
  42.     WINFLS31.FL_ - Example WinFlash .FLS file
  43.     HELPFILE.WR_ - The help documentation in Windows Write

  45.     REGISTER.TX_ - Registration form in ASCII format

  48. An additional file, WINFLASH.INI, will be created by the program 
  49. in your Windows directory the first time the program is executed.
  50. This file contains the information relating to your default 
  51. option settings and should be considered part of the WinFlash 
  52. v3.1 file set after its creation.

  54. To install WinFlash v3.1 from a floppy disk received from Open 
  55. Windows:
  56.     1.  While in Windows, insert the floppy disk in the drive.
  57.     2.  Open File Manager and select the floppy disk.
  58.     3.  Double click on the file OWSETUP.EXE to run it.
  59.     4.  Follow the on-screen instructions.

  61. To install WinFlash v3.1 starting with only a copy of 
  62. FLASH_31.ZIP (FLASH.ZIP  if obtained from CompuServe):
  63.     1.  Create a temporary directory (C:\WF will do) on your 
  64.         hard disk. 
  65.     2.  Copy FLASH_31.ZIP to this directory.
  66.     3.  UnZip the file using PKUnZip or other "UNZIPper".  
  67.         This should produce the files listed above.
  68.     4.  Run SETUPWF.EXE from Windows.  This will take you 
  69.         through the procedure of installing WinFlash v3.1 
  70.         on your hard disk.  Do NOT install the software TO 
  71.         the temporary directory (C:\WF in the above example).
  72.     5.  You may delete all of the files in the temporary 
  73.         directory from your hard disk after completing the 
  74.         installation process, but remember to save a copy of 
  75.         FLASH_31.ZIP on a floppy disk for friends who may 
  76.     want to try WinFlash v3.1.
