- June, 1944
- Normandy, France
-
- The GREAT CRUSADE has
- begun!
-
- The liberation of Europe
- is underway!
-
- Now, up from the beaches,
- your combined tank and foot
- soldier forces are to move
- to secure a couple of key
- bridges across a river in
- the bocage country.
-
- The GIs are tired, hungry
- and at the same time, eager
- to finish the job started
- by the invasion, and get
- back home to the US of A.
-
- The Sherman Tanks are slow,
- prone to break-down, and
- easy fonder for the sleek,
- fast-moving, hard hitting
- panzers of the Werhmacht.
- But, they are what you have.
-
- The Bocage country is great
- for grapes, wine and deadly
- ambushes. Machine-Gun nests,
- Anti-Tank Gun emplacements
- and Panzerfausts seem to lie
- in wait at every hedgerow.
-
- Watch the cows! If they are
- grazing near a hedgerow, that
- usually means there is not an
- ambush lurking there.
-
- Listen to the birds! They do
- seem to squak more when diesel
- fumes have been in the air.
-
- Keep alert!
-
- Secure those bridges!
-
- This scenario lasts 75 turns.
