- Version 4.3 of ColorCodes includes the following features:

- 1. All features from version 4.2:
- The "Undo" feature which allows you to retract guesses made
- in CodeBreaker.
- The "Hint" feature which automatically makes the next guess for you
- in CodeBreaker.

- 2. Improved 3D bitmaps for VGA and SVGA users.
-
- 3. A new feature which allows you to toggle back and forth between
- your game and the program's game after a Challange round in CodeBreaker.
- With this new feature you can compare your game and the program's game.

- About 100K is required to install the game on your hard disk.
- The game can be run from a floppy disk. It is recommended that you
- make a backup floppy if you do this.

- The ColorCodes game package consists of four files:

- CC.EXE
- CC.INI
- CC.HLP
- CCREADME.TXT

- CC.EXE is the executable file for the program.
- Windows version 3.0 or higher is required to use the program.
- This file is required to use the program.

- CC.INI is an initialization file for the program.
- This file is required to use the program.

- CC.HLP is a Windows help file for the program.
- It is recommended, but not absolutely required for using the program.
- If it is not installed, the help facility for the program will not
- be available.

- CCREADME.TXT is this file.
- It is not required for using the program.
- Its installation is completely optional.

- of the files.

- To install the ColorCodes game, copy the three files,
- CC.EXE, CC.INI, and CC.HLP to the directory of your choice.
-
- If you have a GAMES directory on your hard disk, and the ColorCodes files
- are on a floppy in your computer's A: drive, the DOS command to copy
- the files is:
-
- COPY A:CC.* C:\GAMES
-
- Of course, you may copy individual files as follows:
-
- COPY A:CC.EXE C:\GAMES
- COPY A:CC.INI C:\GAMES
- COPY A:CC.HLP C:\GAMES
-
- You may also copy the file from the A: floppy drive to your hard disk
- from the Windows File Manager as follows:
-
- Click on the A: drive icon to log onto the A: drive.
- Open the root directory of the A: drive by double clicking on the
- folder icon. A window showing the files in the root directory should
- appear. Resize this window and move it to the side of the directory
- tree window.

- Click on the C: drive (or whatever harddrive you like) icon.
- Open the directory tree sufficiently to reveal the directory into which
- you would like to copy the ColorCodes files. Select the ColorCodes
- files in the A: drive root directory window, and drag them over the
- appropriate folder icon in the harddrive directory tree window.

- You may setup ColorCodes as a program item in a program group in the
- Windows Program Manager as follows:
-
- Double click on the the program group icon into which you would like to
- add the ColorCodes game. This should open the program group window within
- the Program Manager window. Next select File New... from the Program
- Manager's menu. A dialog box appears with radio buttons for new
- program group or new program item. Click on the new program item
- radio button, and then on the dialog box OK button. A program item
- properties dialog box then appears with type-in boxes for description and
- command line. Type "ColorCodes" into the description field. In the
- command line field type the command line required to start the program.
- For example, if the program is installed in the C:\GAMES directory,
- type "C:\GAMES\CC.EXE" into the command line field. For Windows 3.1 and
- higher, you should also fill in the working directory field. If the
- program is installed in the C:\GAMES directory, type "C:\GAMES" in the
- working directory field. If everthing is ok, click on the dialog box
- OK button, and the ColorCodes icon is added to the program group window.
