  3. You have now received the shareware-version of Win-Family. To gain the most
  4. from the program we suggest you read this first.
  5.  
  6. What kind of program is it ?
  7.  
  8. It is a program for storing and processing genealogical data.
  9.  
  10. * Import/export from/to other programs.
  11. * Tree-views of ancestors and descendants in wall-paper format.
  12. * Statistics of various kinds.
  13. * Lots of different printouts that can be customized as you like.

  15. Documentation :

  17. There is no manual with this program. All documentation is in the form of Windows
  18. online help. This is the natural place for it !

  20. Installation :

  22. You install the program by running a 'setup' program that will transfer all files to
  23. your harddisk and open a group in progman.
  24. The name of the program is : 'Setup'.
  25. We have included a sample file : 'Kings.gen' which is the family tree of the danish
  26. kings. Some of the data is in danish, but you can use the file to play around with
  27. the possibilities of the program.
  28. Hint : 'Gorm den gamle' is the oldest known king and 'Margrethe II' is our current queen.

  30. The future :

  32. If the program is a success, we will continue working on it and improving it.
  33. There are plans concerning the use of multimedia, sound, pictures and video clips,
  34. and the amount of printouts will be increased.

  36. Is it wise to buy the program now ?

  38. Well, first of all, we do not know if there will be a version-2, it depends on the sales-
  39. figures, but secondly, the buyers of version-1 will get a very cheap upgrade offer.
  40. The pass to the cheap upgrade will be the original version-1 diskette, so hang on to it.

  42. Price and ordering :

  44. The program costs $35 in USA or the equivalent thereof in other countries.
  45. This includes postage.
  46. We are not able to accept credit-card payment, but plain old cash will do nicely. 
  47. Do not worry about us being sited in Europe, we are living in a small world.
