  21. it.

  23. Windows Grep is a text search utility  modelled on the UNIX utility of
  24. the same name. It is  particularly  useful  as a programmer's tool for
  25. searching program source  files  for  specific  variables  or function
  26. calls. This version also searches  any  type  of  binary file, such as
  27. word-processor, database and spreadsheet files.

  45. INSTALLING WINDOWS GREP

  48. To install Windows Grep,  simply  put  the  files WGREP.EXE, GREP.DLL,
  49. WGREP.HLP and GREPFEXT.DLL in any convenient directory, and CTL3D.DLL
  50. into your windows  system  directory  (usually c:\windows\system). You
  51. may already have a version of  this  DLL installed. The one shipped in
  52. this package is version 2.0, the latest available as of June 1993.

  55. If Windows cannot find the DLLs  when  Windows  Grep is run, make sure
  56. they are in a directory on your path, and try again.

  95. users for evaluation. Feel  free  to  share  it  with your friends and
  96. colleagues, but please do  not  give  it  away  altered  or as part of
  97. another system. The essence of  user-supported  software is to provide
  98. computer users with quality software  without  high prices, and at the
  99. same time to provide incentive for  programmers to continue to develop
  100. new products.

  103. after the trial  period  of  30  days,  you  must  make a registration

  106. be given a registration number to disable the Shareware reminder which
