Pieces of Cake
Puzzle Hints for
The Seventh Guest
The Pieces of Cake Puzzle is located at the dining room which is to the left
of the main stairway. The object of this puzzle is to divide the cake into
six equal pieces.
Hint 1: The hint provided by the game is "Two skulls, two stones,
the rest is just icing". There are thirty squares of cake,
12 are skulls, 12 are grave stones and six are icing. If
each "piece" is made up of 5 squares with two skulls,
two gravestones and one icing only, this would fit the clue.
Hint 2: Squares selected must be contiguous on any side.
Solution: Each portion is made up of two squares with skulls, two squares
with grave stones and one square with only icing. Pick each group
by picking all of the squares with the same number. Order of squares
within a group is not significant but each selection must border a
previously selected square in that "portion". The numbers in the
groups do not represent the order that the groups must be selected,
they may be chosen in any sequence.
