  2.                              Puzzle Hints for
  3.                              The Seventh Guest

  5. The Queen's Chess Puzzle is located in the Game Room at the end of the
  6. hall. The puzzle consists of an 8 by 8 chess board and eight queens.  The
  7. object of the game is to place eight queens on the chess board so that 
  8. none of their domains overlap. The puzzle is complete when all eight queens
  9. have been positioned.

  11. Hint 1:   The only move that a queen cannot make is the move of a knight. The
  12.           pattern of the knight's move is 2 squares horizontal or vertical
  13.           and 1 square at a right angle from the original direction of travel.
  14.           Using a pattern that resemble's knights moves may be helpful.
  15.  
  16. Hint 2:   Since a queens domain is all squares horizontally, vertically and
  17.           diagonally from her current position, the trick to this puzzle is
  18.           to place the queens so that only one queen is on every row and
  19.           column, and none of the diagonals overlap.
