Setup Configuration: Static scenery uses almost 25,000 bytes of memory, and the dynamic scenery uses almost 20,000 bytes.
This scenery file was my second file to design after the Houston, Texas area. My main reason for doing this was because I was born here, and most of my relatives live here.
This scenery file is great when one also has E.J. Peiker's scenery file of Albuquerque NM. One can fly between the two cities.
Like the Houston scenery, the El Paso scenery is detailed with streets, and buildings. The Franklin Mountains and the Organ Pipe Mountains have been put in, but they look very plain in color unlike E.J.'s beautiful rendition of the Sandia and Manzano mountains. The city of Juarez across the border in Mexico has also been put in.
The El Paso International Airport is complete with main terminals, hangars, taxiways, and upgraded runways. Although the frequencies for the ILSs are not the actual frequencies, the numbers I have put in are:
Rwy 04 108.1
Rwy 22 108.2
Rwy 26 108.3
The VOR frequency was taken from the list in the NEWVOR.TXT file in Library 12. It's number is 115.20.
The Dynamic scenery has three 767s landing on runway 22 and one landing on runway 04. After refueling and boarding passengers, they take off from runway 08. So, be cautious of which runway you decide to land on.
Although I had no information on location or visual aids, I would have loved to put in Biggs Airfield in Fort Bliss and the Juarez International Airport in Mexico. In the mean time I'll keep my eyes peeled for information on them to put them in the scenery. If anyone knows where I can get the information, I would love to hear from them.
