  8.   is perhaps the premier machine that Starfleet has under its protective
  9.   umbrella.  The loss of Data would be deemed a breach of security
  10.   by Starfleet and would deal a severe blow to Starfleet scientific
  11.   progression.

  13.   Data was an honorary graduate of Starfleet Academy.  He was never
  14.   admitted on grounds that he had an unfair advantage.  Since disproving
  15.   any doubts about his sentience, Lieutenant Commander Data has
  16.   actively pursued further knowledge.  His curiosity and desire for
  17.   knowledge is unmatched anywhere in the galaxy.
