  1. Free Ranging Raid on Erfurt Airbase
  2.  
  3. Something is up at a Luftwaffe airbase
  4. just to the northeast of your forward
  5. airfield. You and three other pilots
  6. have been sent on a free ranging raid
  7. to check out the Erfurt Luftwaffe 
  8. airfield.
  9.  
  10. The war has been winding down for months
  11. now and Luftwaffe activity has been 
  12. unusually low. Operations has put this
  13. down to the dwindling ranks of pilots
  14. and planes in the Luftwaffe.
  15.  
  16. Your orders are to flyby the enemy 
  17. airfield and check out the activity 
  18. reportedly going on there and strafe any
  19. targets of opportunity you may find on
  20. the field. As such you have been equipped
  21. with bazooka rockets.
  22.  
  23. Your group has passed unmolested into 
  24. enemy territory and is approaching the
  25. enemy field on a low approach. Suddenly
  26. as you get nearer you see a mass number
  27. of enemy fighters scrambling to meet you
  28. and more being rolled out of hangars as
  29. the first enemy planes takeoff.

  31. You think to yourself, "Whoa, Baby! What 
  32. have I gotten myself into now! If I 
  33. get out of this that guy at Ops is going
  34. to hear from me!"

  39. This mission has a special trick I used to
  40. allow all enemy groups to take off from the
  41. same airfield instead of starting in the air
  42. at 100 feet.
