  34. This module allows you to handle a  lot of  housekeeping 
  35. chores with your FS-PRO and MODE files and also lets you 
  36. customize the system to your specifications.

  38. Be sure to check your PATHS using the SETUP module. And, 
  39. type in your first and  last   name   for   personalized 
  40. operation.  Select UTILITIES from the MAIN MENU and then 
  41. select SETUP.

  43. Please  read  the INFORMATION  screens  when  you  first 
  44. operate  the UTILITIES module.  There  is  a  help  file 
  45. similar to this with many helpful hints.

  49. Individual MODULES are called  up  from the  MAIN  MENU. 
  50. And,  you can always return to the FS-PRO MAIN MENU from 
  51. any other MODULE.   The  menu  prompt will display which 
  52. version of the  Microsoft Flight  Simulator  program you 
  53. have installed in the PARM.OVL file.

  65. You may access the HELP and MEMO  module  directly  from 
  66. the MAIN MENU.  We  have tried  to  provide  you  with a 
  67. simple indexed help  screen.   Please browse through the 
  68. information if this is the first  time you have used FS-
  69. PRO.  Select the  HELP menu  and then access the Context 
  70. HELP/MEMO PAD module.

  77. You  may access the Pilot's calculator from  the  Flight 
  78. Planning Menu or the AIRCRAFT data base module and vice-
  79. versa.   There is an important  feature  for weights and 
  80. balances to demonstrate the use of these measurements to 
  81. student pilots.  Flight Simulator provides some data for 
  82. the  Cessna,  Lear,  Sophwith,  etc.  Our example  entry 
  83. (record #2)  is a Cessna 172  with a CG set to 37". When 
  84. you choose to  use the calculator module,  simply select 
  85. the NUMBERS from the menu and then select AIRCRAFT #2 to 
  86. see how the display works. We import the CG, weights and 
  87. fuel  data  from your aircraft data  base and make  some 
  88. preliminary calculations.

  90. The   calculator   also   provides  for specific weather 
  91. calculations,  sunrise and  sunset  azmuth and a USA/GMT 
  92. time-zone display.  You may shuttle between the aircraft 
  93. module and the calculator or return  at any point to the 
  94. FS-PRO main menu.   We  have also included a WIND/COURSE 
  95. CORRECTION/GS calculator.

  102. If you properly installed FS-PRO,   then you  may select 
  103. item #1  from the main menu and a list of the ADVENTURES 
  104. that came in the ADVPAK1.EXE file will be presented in a 
  105. window  directory.  Use the arrow  keys to  highlight  a 
  106. filename and the ENVIRONS screen will appear.

  108. .DAT files go in \FSP\ADV
  109. .FPN files go in \FSP\ADV
  110. .MOD files go in your FS MODE directory

  126. If your checklist fails,  then go back to the  docs  and 
  127. read about INSTALLING  the .MOD, .DAT,  and AIRPORT data 
  128. files into their PROPER DIRECTORY. This data is provided 
  129. with the INSTALL program and must be on board for FS-PRO 
  130. to work properly.

  137. First,  you  must go fly  a particular scenerio that you 
  138. enjoy.  Most users will then use the "SLEW"  controls to 
  139. position the aircraft  onto  the scenery disk grid. This 
  140. may be a simple "takeoff" setting or "upside down"  in a 
  141. stall facing a tornado at 10,000 feet, out of gas and no 
  142. parachute. 
  143.  
  144. The  point is,  you will  discover  many unusual  scenes 
  145. during  your "flying"  and you can SAVE them as a Flight 
  146. Simulator MODE.  Then,  by  using FS-PRO,  you can fully 
  147. document the newly saved .MOD file.  Select item #1 from 
  148. the MAIN FS-PRO MENU and a window  will appear with your 
  149. library of MODE files. Position the "high-lite" bar over 
  150. your  new .MOD file and we will post the MODE  OVERVIEW. 
  151. Then all you have to  do is add your own personal NOTAMS 
  152. and you can then  "Fly"  the scenerio right from the FS-
  153. PRO MENU, again and again.
