HOW TO USE THE FILES:
To use the plane files in this archive, you MUST have a copy of
Microsoft Flight Simulator Ver. 4.0. Microsoft Flight Simulator is a flight
simulation game available from Microsoft Corp. Without it, you will not be
able to use the files. It is possible that the planes will work with
Flight Simulator 3.0, but they will not work with 2.0

Phillips RP-3 Mako
Powerplant: 1 (10,000 lbs thrust) turbofan

Maximum speed, level flight at 30,000 ft. (KTS): 500+

This is my attempt at improving the experimental jet provided with
the program. I gave it a big engine and as much fuel as it could carry.
Test pilots have discovered that MFS is not very good at simulating
supersonic speeds, which the RP-3 is clearly capable of. This results in
possible instability while in supersonic flight.

This is an improved version of the Cessna 182. Extra fuel tanks have
been added for greater range, as well as a more powerful engine.

This plane was really created by accident. I was playing with the
wing aspect ratio levels on the RP-6 and came up with this. I tried flying
it, and amazingly it flew well! (Althougth VERY slowly). This is the fixed
wing equivalent of a helicopter. It can practically hover, and land on a
VERY small space. It stalls at such a low speed that you can't activate the
stall warning horn. It seems to stall at about 10 knots. Flaps do funny
things to this bird. They almost seem to make it stall before it will flying
clean (flaps up).

Phillips RP-8 Grasshopper
Powerplant: 1 150hp piston engine
Length: 28 ft.

This is essentially a Cessna 182 with winglets added, giving it more
lift and STOL (Short Takeoff Or Landing) capability. Its primary purpose is
crop-dusting. It is superior to the Cessna 182 at this job, although the
Sopwith Camel theoretically would be good at crop-dusting too.

Phillips RP-10 SuperCruiser
Powerplant: 1 890hp turboprop engine

This is a turboprop aircraft desinged for flight over very long
distances. It might be capable of a transcontinental flight, but I'm not sure.
I have flown it from New York to Chicago nonstop.

Helio AU-24A Stallion

Landing gear: *Non-Rectractable Taildragger (Non-Retractable tricycle)
Service ceiling : 25,000 ft.

I tried "plugging in" the values for a real aircraft into the aircraft
desinger and the results came out pretty well. This light turboprop aircraft
is used by the USAF, and saw action in VietNam flying for the CIA- controlled
Air America. It seems to fly remarkably well, although it has a great deal of
torque when at full throttle. It really shows its stuff as a STOL transport.

De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver
Powerplant: 1 450hp radial engine
Length: *30ft., 3 in. (28 ft.)
Height: 9 ft..
Wingspan: 48 ft.
Landing gear: *Non-Rectractable Taildragger (Non-Retractable tricycle)
Service ceiling : 18,000 ft.
Maximum speed, level flight at 10,000 ft. (KTS): 123
Cruise, 65% power at 10,000 feet. (KTS): 117
Stall Speed, clean (KTS): 55
Stall Speed, flaps down (KTS): 43
Fuel Capacity (GAL): 187
This is another STOL transport aircraft. Because it is tough, easy
to fly and mauntain, it is the plane of choice to Canadian bush pilots, and
bush pilots all over the world. It also saw service in the US armed forces in
Korea and VietNam.

Since this is the plane I fly for flight lessons, I put it into
MFS4 so I could practice at home. In nearly every respect this flies just
like the real thing. It doesn't have the preformance of other planes, but
it's fun to play with and easy to fly.
* The values in asterisks are those that the real aircraft has. Due to the
limitations of the program, they could not be added. The values in parens are
the ones you will use in MFS4.
COMMENTS:
If you create any new airplanes, please upload them so they can be
shared. The only things I used to create planes is a book with statisitcs
on the aircraft, what I thought the plane could do, and some guesswork.

the future. I have many other planes that I haven't uploaded. Some are
experimental, and some are ones I didn't put in this archive, like the
