Ustica "Flight 870" for Flight Simulator 4.0, is ready to delivery.
This is a little screen shots collection simulating VOR crossing and
positions during June 27, 1980 flight captured from the original IFR
simulation i done. The flying model, is the original DC-9 serie 15
marked ITAVIA I-TIGI. VORs, dialogs pilots/radar controllers, flight
levels and airways, are originals as reported by specialized revues
and all paths in the simulation are sincronized to follows exactly
Jappesen Ambra 12, Ambra 14, Puma point (now PEMAR), direct to Paler
mo via Ambra 13 as was in the reality. Now paths Ambra has been chan
ged in Alpha. In a week the demo version will be released around the
BBS's world with major details on proper use done this IFR flight
is dedicated to above average pilots and not to Sunday's PPT players
as i done before. The simulation is totally hand written, and compi
led with AAF fighting for days with IF/ENDIF mismatches. :-)

- Two versions: Figoni and Colapicchioni Sceneries planned.
- Italian and English versions
- Original timing/season takeoff (20.08) and crash (21.04).
- Real SID departure rules (licence revoked if you wrong).
- No autopilot available (you can use FS4 just for heading and FTL).
- No radar checks (just some help to correct your heading and alti
tude, but you mainly pilot looking and setting
NAV/VORS/Heading).
- No traffic checks (only real traffic reported in the 1980 flight,
you *MUST* follow radar controller directions.
You will have some problem with a Fokker 28 and
a cross altitude conflict.)
- No ATC Chatter (thanks God)
- Original .VOC dialogs (for SoundBlaster users) or scrolling texts.
- Original Jet Stream wind 110/120 knots over Ponza
- Original N/WEST wind 80/90 knots over Florence/Appennini
- And other 1980 original flight technical datas ....

This flight is dedicated in memory of 85 died, 50 miles before Ustica
Island. This was the most serious air disaster in the Mediterranean
Sea, and HOW he's exploded or eventually by WHO, is still a mistery.

Thanks in advance to all "Wings Forum Team" on SAM Link, Luca Seganti
for a great DC-9 rework and new .SIM, Massimo Poggi (747 Alitalia
Commander) for precious technical informations, Giorgio Rea (Rome Fiu
micino International Air Traffic), for technical support and finally
to Bruce Artwick for his seamless masterpiece. Thanks all ...........
