  1.                             INTRODUCTION

  3. This patch file will update your current version of A-10 Tank Killer
  4. to include a new joystick driver which corrects joystick problems,
  5. primarily those associated with using a fast computer (i.e. 386/33)
  6. with a game card that does not offer speed calibration.  In
  7. addition, it corrects the problem of certain mouse drivers not being
  8. recognized in the simulation.

  10. If the program does not recognize your joystick on the Main Menu,
  11. continue with the program and try to turn in on from within the
  12. simulation by pulling up the Preferences panel with the F10 key.

  15.                             INSTALLATION

  17. To update your original version of A-10 with the new joystick code,
  18. simply copy the patch files (PATCH.EXE and PATCH.RTP) into the
  19. subdirectory on your hard drive where A-10 is located.  If you used
  20. the Smart Start install program, it will be located in the
  21. \DYNAMIX\A10 subdirectory.

  23. Once you've copied the files there, run the patch program by typing
  24. PATCH. The patch program will update your original version and
  25. announce when it is completed.

  28.                         RUNNING THE PROGRAM

  30. Once you've updated the program, run it exactly how you ran the
  31. original version.  No additional commands are necessary.
