- KPLD.COM (Kaypro Line Display) is a text (ASCII) file viewer for non-graphic
- Kaypro computers, and other "plain vanilla" CP/M 2.2 machines. It allows you
- to page forward or backward through a file, to scroll the text at varying
- speeds, to find a text string, and to perform other useful functions. For
- maximum screen "readability," the program resets bit 7 so that those curious
- (graphic) WordStar symbols are filtered out!
-
- TO USE: at the prompt, type
-
- KPLD [drive:] filename.ext
-
- then press RETURN. [drive:] is the letter of the drive containing the file you
- wish to view (you may omit this if the file is on the default drive).
- "Filename.ext" is the name and the extension of the file you wish to view.
-
- To familiarize yourself with the program, just type KPLD then press RETURN.
- Since no file was requested, you'll be prompted for one. Instead of a file,
- type ?. This will give you a menu of commands. The menu can be called up at
- any time...even while viewing text...simply by pressing the ? key. Look over
- these commands; try them out; get to know them. If you happen to make a mis-
- take, no problem! KPLD cannot destroy or alter a file in any way whatsoever.
-
- I've used the program virtually everyday for years. It's a kludge but it's been
- useful. Hopefully, others will find it useful as well.
