  3. Welcome to Animal Farm.
  4.     
  5. This is the Microbee edition of the programme.
  6. It is designed to help those students who are studying the
  7. novel for their HSC/VCE exams or equivalent.
  8.     
  9. I have tried to make the activities in this package fun to help
  10. you learn painlessly. At the same time the serious student will
  11. find food for thought in the many pages of notes.
  12.     
  13. Remember that no guide-book no computer programme can ever
  14. replace a good teacher and your own hard work in studying the
  15. book.

  17. HOW TO USE THE PROGRAMME
  18. ========================

  20. Move around the programme using the menu system. At each menu
  21. press the option number to select the option you want.
  22. To back out of any activity and return to the menu just press
  23. the <Esc> key.
  24. Just try using this system and you will very quickly get used
  25. to it.

  27. All of the activities have instructions or reminders on-screen
  28. to help you remember what to do next.

  37. As well there are plot summaries and notes on characters themes
  38. background and setting language etc.
  39. You will also find a map and pictures of Animal Farm itself and
  40. also notes and a picture of the author.

  44. Please note that page numbers mentioned in the programme refer
  45. to the Longmans Student edition.
  46. Finally I would just like to say that I hope you enjoy the
  47. programme and that it assists your learning and enjoyment of
