  34. This  Microworld Basic program is self prompting and  simple 
  35. to use.  At run time it prompts for the filename of the .WBF 
  36. file to be converted.   No filetype should be given,  as the 
  37. program  automatically appends .WBF before looking  for  the 
  38. file.
  39.  
  40. It  then  prompts for the name of the new output  file,  and 
  41. offers "filename.WST" as the default where "filename" is the 
  42. answer  to the first prompt.  If this suits,  reply  with  a 
  43. carriage return. Otherwise, give a "filename.typ" response.
  44.  
  45. It  then  goes off and trudges through your  .WBF  file  and 
  46. makes  the new one.  Being a Basic program,  it is not  very 
  47. fast.  On  my  system,  it processes about 4.3k per  minute. 
  48. However,  I  assume  that it will rarely be called  upon  to 
  49. operate on gigantic files.

  51. When  finished,  it  tells you so and reminds you to  go  to 
  52. WordStar to re-format the file (using control B, of course). 
  53. It then asks you to hit any key to return to CP/M.

  58. Version  1.0  appeared  in  Applied  Technology's   "Online" 
  59. magazine (No. 4, September 1984). è
  60. Version 1.1 has been shortened a bit to remove some features 
  61. that  seemed of no real use to me.  I added in the return to 
  62. CP/M and corrected some errors in the published version. 
  63.  
  64. I  have used this version to convert the WordBee Manual  and 
  65. it behaved as it should have.
  66.  
  67. A  later  version should also produce output that  could  be 
  68. immediately useful as CP/M text files,  for those Bee  users 
  69. who  don't have WordStar.  It should also provide for  those 
  70. who do not have disk systems.
