WBFTOWST.MWB Version 1.1
WordBee to WordStar File Converter
DOC File by Greg Black - 11-Oct-84
This Microworld Basic program is self prompting and simple
to use. At run time it prompts for the filename of the .WBF
file to be converted. No filetype should be given, as the
program automatically appends .WBF before looking for the
file.
It then prompts for the name of the new output file, and
offers "filename.WST" as the default where "filename" is the
answer to the first prompt. If this suits, reply with a
carriage return. Otherwise, give a "filename.typ" response.
It then goes off and trudges through your .WBF file and
makes the new one. Being a Basic program, it is not very
fast. On my system, it processes about 4.3k per minute.
However, I assume that it will rarely be called upon to
operate on gigantic files.
When finished, it tells you so and reminds you to go to
WordStar to re-format the file (using control B, of course).
It then asks you to hit any key to return to CP/M.
HISTORY
Version 1.0 appeared in Applied Technology's "Online"
magazine (No. 4, September 1984). è
Version 1.1 has been shortened a bit to remove some features
that seemed of no real use to me. I added in the return to
CP/M and corrected some errors in the published version.
I have used this version to convert the WordBee Manual and
it behaved as it should have.
A later version should also produce output that could be
immediately useful as CP/M text files, for those Bee users
who don't have WordStar. It should also provide for those
who do not have disk systems.
Any complaints, suggestions etc. can be addressed to me on
one of the following Melbourne systems:
Tardis (03) 67 7760 (1800-0800 M-F, 24hrs W/E)
Micom (03) 762 5088 (24 hrs)
