-
- EASE is a full-featured Z3 command line editor, history shell and error
- handler. The command set (unless configured differently) is much like
- WordStar's. EASE is meant to be more flexible, faster, and smaller than any
- other shell editor.
- :1
-
-
- Syntax: EASE <-- invoke the error handler and the shell
-
- EASE C <-- edit a single command
-
- EASE E <-- invoke the error handler only
-
- EASE S <-- invoke the shell only
-
- Option 'C' is useful if user command input is desired from any shell such
- as ZFILER or MENU.

- EASE Notes:
-
- a. EASE comes configured with a fairly large subset of WordStar editing
- commands. These can be easily configured, however, to those of other
- editors (the command table begins at location 20h at the beginning of
- the program).
-
- b. EASE is configured for 80-column display (a hex value of 50 at location
- 19h). This can be changed to 40- (hex 28) or 132-column display (84).
-
- c. As configured, EASE will store commands of three or more characters in
- its history file. This sizing can be made bigger or smaller by changing
- the number at location 1Bh.
-
- d. EASE20.LBR contains a version of EASE which runs at 8000h. This can be
- changed by relinking EASE.REL to whatever location is preferred.
-
-
- EASE Notes (continued):
-
- e. Version 2.0 -- Variables which point to location in the history file
- have been moved from the shell stack to the registers. Registers 7-9
- (setable by user) are used with EASE. The variables can also be put in
- any SAFE memory location at least 3 bytes long.
-
- Undo is supported for ^Q^Y, ^T, and ^Q<DEL>. This means that ALL delete
- functions can now be undone.
-
- Filename completion has been added. Type a partial filename and hit
- TAB. The filename is completed. Subsequent TABs produce more matches
- to the filename.
-
- The use of BDOS function 6 for input on CP/M.
-
- Extended error messages for ZCPR 3.4.
-
-
- EASE Notes (continued):
-
-
- Generalized HALTSUB and GETCCP to support CP/M Plus and extended
- environment (in Z34SLR.REL).
-
- Addition of a local stack, 'due to apparent overflow when modifying a
- command line in error-handler mode.'
