  1. The Incomplete and Abridged Computer Term Lexicon

  4. ANALOG - Hors d'oeuvre, usually made of cheese and covered with crushed 
  5. nuts. Served at all staff parties.
  6.  
  7. APPLE - Typically, a device used to seduce men. Usually equipped with 
  8. display screens and/or worms.
  9.  
  10. BAR CHART - A list of places to go when it's Miller time.
  11.  
  12. BINARY - Possessing the ability to have friends of both sexes.
  13.  
  14. BIPOLAR - Refers to someone who has homes in Nome, Alaska, and Buffalo, 
  15. New York.
  16.  
  17. BIT - Similar to a nibble. Commonly eight nibbles to a mouthful.  See 
  18. BYTE.
  19.  
  20. BPI - A 1960s term used to describe unmentionable parts of the anatomy, 
  21. as in "you bet your bpi."
  22.  
  23. BUBBLE MEMORY - A derogatory term, usually referring to a person's 
  24. intelligence. See also "vacuum tube."
  25.  
  26. BUG - Small living things that small boys throw on small living girls.
  27.  
  28. BYTE - A mouthful, as in "How many bytes in a Big Mac?"
  29.  
  30. CASSETTE - A very small petite cass - usually achieved through exercise.
  31.  
  32. CPU - A juvenile way of telling your dog he missed the paper.
  33.  
  34. CHARACTER DENSITY - The number of very weird people in the office.
  35.  
  36. CHIP - Any number of small crunchy objects often served with onion dip.
  37.  
  38. CLOSED LOOP - A method of execution no longer in vogue except in Iran.
  39.  
  40. CODE - Virus lasting about three to five days, accompanied by sore 
  41. throat, runny nose and fever.

  43. COMMAND - Statement presented by a human and accepted by a computer in 
  44. such a manner as to make the human fell as if he is in control.
  45.  
  46. COMPILE - A heap of decomposing vegetable matter.
  47.  
  48. CONVERSATIONAL MODE - Describes the typical office the day after a major 
  49. sporting event.
  50.  
  51. CRT - A movie about a little alien who forgets his telephone number and 
  52. must write home.

  54. CURSOR - An expert in four-letter words.
  55.  
  56. DEBUG - The act of placing shoe leather against a small creeping 
  57. creature.
  58.  
  59. DOWNTIME - Coffee breaks, lunch or Friday mentality in the office.
  60.  
  61. DUMP - The EPA's answer to health.
  62.  
  63. ERROR - Something only humans can commit.
  64.  
  65. FIFO - Common name for a dog.
  66.  
  67. GIGO - A movie industry acronym referring to the numerous "Gidget 
  68. Goes..." movies, i.e. GIGO Hawaii, GIGO surfing, etc.

  70. HARDWARE - Typically boots, leather and chains. Contrast with software.

  72. INTERFACE - The opposite of "Getouttamyface."

  74. K - A term used in employment ads to disguise how much they are really 
  75. willing to pay.

  77. MEGAHERTZ - A very large car rental company.
  78.  
  79. NETWORK - THe occupation of a fisherman.
  80.  
  81. ON LINE - A statement shouted at tennis judges in response to serves 
  82. being called out.

  84. OUTPUT - What people who talk backwards do with their cat.

  86. PROGRAM - What commercials try to do to us.
  87.  
  88. RAM - A male sheep.
  89.  
  90. REAL TIME - Here and now, as opposed to fake time, which only occurs 
  91. there and then.

  93. ROM - A RAM after a delicate operation.

  95. SEMI-CONDUCTOR - A person hired to lead an orchestra before he has 
  96. graduated from director's school.
  97.  
  98. SOFTWARE - Typically silk nighties, nylons, garter belts. Contrast with 
  99. hardware.
  100.  
  101. TERMINAL - What most people have to be before consenting to see a 
  102. doctor.
  103.  
  104. TRANSISTOR - A sibling, opposite of transbrother.
  105.  
  106. VACUUM TUBE - A derogatory term. See "BUBBLE MEMORY."
