  2. POLICIES REGARDING THE REBATE OFFER ON COURIER HST PURCHASES

  5. BBS operators who take advantage of USRobotics' SysOp Support
  6. Program and purchase a Courier HST can help their subscribers
  7. join the 9600 bps arena by offering them a $50.00 rebate
  8. certificate good against the purchase of a Courier HST modem.

  10. Participating SysOps are asked to post on their Bulletin Boards
  11. an information file that is intended to dismiss some of the
  12. confusion and rumors about 9600 bps communication.  It covers
  13. the progress of modem technology, addresses how 9600 bps is
  14. achievable over voice-grade phone lines, discusses in layman's
  15. terms the existing 9600 bps recommendations (the CCITT's V.29
  16. and V.32) and their drawbacks and mentions proposed standards
  17. presently before the CCITT.

  19. Part of the file is a $50.00 rebate certificate that callers
  20. may download from the SysOp's BBS and print.  When endusers
  21. buy a Courier HST, they may redeem the rebate certificate by
  22. mailing it with the modem's warranty card and proof of
  23. purchase to USRobotics.  This offer is not limited to
  24. individuals:  group, commercial, and institutional purchasers
  25. may also take advantage of the rebates.  SysOps buying
  26. Courier HSTs direct from USRobotics under the SysOp Support Program
  27. are not eligible for rebates.

  29. The rebate certificate contains a "BBS Identification Number"
  30. that will be unique to each bulletin board. This number identifies
  31. the specific bulletin board that served as the source for each
  32. redeemed certificate.  Your personal I.D. # will be issued to you
  33. after you have recieved your modem, please edit your sample coupon
  34. so that it contains your personal number.  SysOps participating in the
  35. rebate program may elect to receive a $10.00 remuneration for each
  36. redeemed certificate.  Alternatively, SysOps may have the $10.00
  37. remuneration donated to the worthy cause of their choice or refuse it
  38. altogether.

  44. There is no limit to the number of rebate certificates a customer
  45. may redeem.  Only one certificate may be redeemed per warranty card.
