Lt Col Denny Hugg 03 Oct 89
2500 Greenview Dr.
Gulfport MS 39507
Dear Wayne;
I have returned the enclosed disks with a current copy (both .EXE
and RECIPES.DAT have changed) of the recipe data base on the 5.25" floppy.
I have placed on the 3.5" disk revision 20 of a deer herd simulation I
have been working on, sporadically, for the past two years. As you might
suspect after you run the deer sim, my ambitions exceed time available.
I have ceased, for now, bulletin board activity. PC Pursuit was not to my
liking. I am deciding whether or not to sign up to another long-distance
service or find another means of justifying continued BBS communication.
I have benefitted greatly from participation in SESAME, both from gains
in knowledge and simple amplification of the joys common to all who have
an interest in non-human matters. I hope I will in future be able to
continue to communicate with some of your BBS members. I have several
projects under way which may be of some interest. I have compiled a
'knowledge data base' of salt-water fishes of the Gulf of Mexico which
keys to class, and am continuing the key down to species. I have used
the technique of freshwater 'NOTROPIS', figuring if I can key out that
complicated genus ( I have), I should be able to do the same with another.
I have been receiving assistance from the Chief Scientist, Dr. Ted Simons,
of the Gulf Islands National Seashore at Horn Island in building a WORLD
BIRD SPECIES database, another overly-ambitious project. There are now
4219 species entered. I hope to have most species entered by next October,
as well as much of the erroneous and synonymous data removed.
Thank you for your interest in the recipe database, and for the good work
that you do as Sysop on SESAME.
Sincerely;
Denny Hugg file: WAYNEC.LTR
