  1. Thank you for expressing interest in The Recipe Processor.  Use the program
  2. for a 30 day trial period.  If you find the program useful, please
  3. register with the author.  If you like it (or even if you don't), please
  4. give copies of the program to your friends to try.  All the author asks is
  5. that the program be copied with all accompanying files intact.

  7. Why should you register when you already have a working copy?  While this
  8. version (2.0) of The Recipe Processor is complete and uncut, the registered
  9. version (2.2) contains additional features and enhancements.  Registering 
  10. will also entitle you to one free upgrade, when available.  It will
  11. also encourage the author to continue to improve and upgrade the program.
  12. Last, the registered version does not have the opening "annoyance screen".

  17. RECIPE PROCESSOR SHAREWARE VERSION 2.0 NEW FEATURES:

  19. 1.  REWRITTEN FRACTION UNIT.  FRACTIONS LIKE 23/43'S ARE NOW A THING OF THE
  20.     PAST.  ALL UNITS ARE ROUNDED TO THE NEAREST 1/16TH OF A UNIT.

  22. 2.  UNIT CONVERSIONS ARE NOW POSSIBLE FROM THE INGREDIENT DISPLAY WINDOW. JUST
  23.     PRESS F7, AND HIGHLIGHT THE UNITS YOU WANT TO CONVERT FROM, THEN HIGHLIGHT
  24.     THE UNITS YOU WANT TO CONVERT TO.  CONVERT BETWEEN TEASPOONS, TABLESPOONS,
  25.     OUNCES, CUPS, PINTS, QUARTS, POUNDS, AND GRAMS.

  27. 3.  SMART RECIPE SELECTION WINDOW.  REFRESHES ITSELF FROM THE DISK ONLY WHEN
  28.     RECIPES ARE ADDED OR DELETED.  THIS RESULTS IN ALMOST INSTANT DISPLAY OF
  29.     THE WINDOW AFTER THE INITIAL READ.

  31. 4.  THE USER NAME WILL NOW ONLY ACCEPT UPPER AND LOWERCASE LETTERS, AND THE
  32.     NUMBERS 0 THROUGH 9.  THIS PREVENTS GARBAGE CHARACTERS FROM APPEARING 
  33.     IN THE NAME.

  35. 5.  ENHANCED SEARCH BY INGREDIENT FUNCTION, ALLOWING THE ENTIRE DATABASE TO 
  36.     BE SEARCHED, OR, ALLOWS UP TO 26 USER CHOOSEN CATEGORIES FOR THE SEARCH.
  37.     SEARCH FUNCTIONS CAN NOW BE ABORTED BY PRESSING ESC, OR TRUNCATED BY
  38.     PRESSING F10.

  40. 6.  PULL DOWN WINDOWS CAN BE ACCESSED BY PRESSING THE FIRST LETTER OF THE 
  41.     MENU NAME (WITH CAPS LOCK OFF), OR BY THE ARROW KEYS.

  44. THE RECIPE PROCESSOR REGISTERED VERSION 2.2 NEW FEATURES:

  46. ENHANCMENTS:
  47.  
  48. 1. Due to user request, recipe sub categories have been added.  You can now
  49.    have categories beneath categories! Examples: "DESSERTS PIES"  or
  50.    "DESSERTS PUDDING" or "POULTRY CHICKEN" or "POULTRY DUCK".  The first 
  51.    category is the main, and the second is the sub category.  Even with this
  52.    new feature, the program is still 100% compatible with older databases! No
  53.    conversions of any kind are needed when you upgrade to version 2.2!

  55. 2. Search by category and ingredient have been enhanced with the option to
  56.    include sub categories in the search.
  57.    
  58. 3. Improved formatted import routine.  It now checks if imported categories
  59.    exist in database.  If not, gives you the option to add them on the spot.
  60.    Import also works with sub categories.  Import now displays status in 
  61.    bottom window.  You can terminate import at any time by pressing esc.

  63. 4. NEW !!! Unformatted import routine.  While the standard import feature
  64.    requires a rigid file structure, unformatted import allows importing recipes
  65.    from standard unformatted ASCII text files.  Instead of typing, use block 
  66.    and paste methods to enter recipes.  This is a great time saver!

  68. 5. Export now includes sub categories.
  69.  
  70. 6. Enhanced RECIPE LIST function.  You can now print a Directory of all recipes
  71.    sorted by name or by category.  The list can be sent to the printer or to
  72.    the screen.

  74. 7. Recipes that are adjusted for new servings can be saved in the new adjusted
  75.    form.

  80. PRINTING THE MANUAL:

  82. Before printing, be sure to align the printhead just below the page
  83. perforation.  This will ensure that the forms line up correctly.

  94. 1. How about a calorie calculator?  Press a key and you are shown how many
  95.    calories are in each serving of your favorite recipes.

  99.    receive the next upgrade free of charge.
