LOADING COMPU-CHEF TO OTHER THAN C:\COMPCHEF\
*********************************************
IMPORTANT! We recommend using the INSTALL.BAT file provided if
you are a home user and have adequate space remaining on your
C: drive.
1. Decide which drive you want to use to unload Compu-Chef. In
this example I will use Drive x:
2. Decide which directory. If you do not use "COMPCHEF" you will
need to access the configuration facility (COMPCHEF F) soon after
the load. You will not be able to "see" the recipes or manual if
the configuration file (CONFFIGG.FIL) does not point to the place
(Drive and directory) where you have unloaded Compu-Chef.
3. Log on to the x: drive and create a directory for Compu-Chef.
Create the directory:
x: ( ... log onto the drive )
CD\ ( ... ensure that you are in the root directory )
MKDIR COMPCHEF ( ... create the directory for Compu-Chef )
4. Now, copy the self-extracting archive from the A: drive (or
wherever you've placed the diskette) to the new directory on Drive x:
CHDIR \COMPCHEF ( ... change directories )
COPY A:C-01.EXE x:\COMPCHEF\C-01.EXE ( ... copy the file needed )
5. Allow the file to self-extract all Compu-Chef programs and files
(139 of them):
C-01 ( ... begin the self-extraction process
courtesy of Haruyasu Yoshizaki and his
LHarc program )
6. Finally, delete the C-01.EXE file and save the 300k that it
occupies:
DEL C-01.EXE ( ... delete the file )
7. Using the command COOKMENU F from the command line, alter the
default configuration to show the correct drive and directory for
the recipes and manual.
