  1.    On May 20, NBC aired the final episode of "Cheers," its long-running situation comedy.  The final program was viewed by 93 million people, second only to the 121.6  million who watched the final episode of MASH in 1983.
  2.    The comedy, about the denizens of a bar in Boston, began in 1981 and was NBC's longest-running comedy. It had garnered 111 Emmy  nominations and had won 26 of the awards.
